((OOC: Apologies, I was confused by your post. I thought you were looking through the software on the computer to accomplish the goals you were trying to succeed at.

Once Nathan realised the software he was looking for wasn't on the ship he stopped looking.

"Nebesnogo, sitrep. Can she fly out of here?"

Nathan disconnected from the ships computer. He walked to the ramp and looked where the footprints where heading.

"Nope it would have to be towed out of here. It can be fixed but it would need yard work." Nebesnogo responded after he checked the last bit of the ship.

"Have you found the separate system where they keep the data? And do you remember what we had to look for exactly? I'm going to double check the ship for sabotage. Call if you need me." He responded before looking for the source of the damage and how it happened and if he saw damage form after the crash.

Nebesnogo inspected the damage on the ship. It looked like the hyperdrive engine suffered from a cascading failure in the primary power converter. The failure had then spread through the engine, causing damage to other components. The heat distribution system was a separate system from this, so it was odd that it would have failed as well, though it could be the case that an electrical short caused by the hyperdrive failure had triggered a faulty relay in the system. A more detailed inspection would take several hours.

Nathan established that the tracks outside weren't so much footprints as they were drag marks leading away from the ship, as if someone had put a plough behind a drunken ox, leaving a very strange trail in the red marshland.

The trail led off into the distance at least a mile away, and though it could be easily followed, there did not appear to be a landmark in the general direction of their target. In fact, it wasn't quite certain the trail wasn't made by a vehicle travelling around randomly without any destination. That all said, they would be quite easy to follow.

"Negative, the software package is not here. Rendezvous outside, double time it. We're going to retrieve the crew."

Nathan said while move off the ramp and waiting for Nebesnogo. As soon as he arrived, he started following the trail.

The two Jedi left the ships behind and followed the trail, which seemed to go on forever. Passing by a stream, they could see a flock of strange birds taking off, seemingly alerted by something.

Image

Surprised, the two Jedi investigated for a moment, the force guiding them to what seemed like some sort of odd cluster of branches or something, next to the river. It certainly did not fit in with the rest of the scenery and though from afar one might miss it, up close it seemed as if someone had done a bad job pasting it onto the landscape and using a blur tool to hide the evidence.

Underneath the cluster of branches lay a concrete tube with a ladder heading down into some type of underground base! This must be where they had taken the crew. It did not explain what had made the odd trail, but since it ended nearby, perhaps it was not that important...

"I think I will go first because I might be able to fly in here and then if something goes wrong I will be out allot faster than you will be." he said before taking a quick look down.

"Here I go." he said before going down in the hole.

Nebesnogo went down first, precariously lowering himself in the narrow shaft, which clearly wasn't design with Mudry wing motions in mind. Nathan followed a short bit behind him on the stairs.

For a concrete pipe in the middle of a marshland, the construction was remarkably dry and clear of mould and moss, save for a bit at the top of the shaft. Likely the concrete was designed to keep out water and plants.

The pipe down ended in a hallway which was guarded by two camera's, likely security. The blinking red lights next to both camera's indicated they were recording - and likely someone was watching as well. If the Jedi were to move forward unseen, they had best find a way past the camera's without being detected...

"Nebesnogo, maintain silence and hold position. We don't know if they have sound detectors. Hand signals only. Nod to acknowledge."

Nathan used his silent communication to give his squadmate the advice.

He checked if he could detect a wireless signal coming from the cameras, with his own wireless system.

((OOC: Detecting things like that requires a check. I am ruling it will be based on reason and slicing, giving you a total of 11.))

Nathan did not detect any wireless signals coming from the camera's. If his readings were accurate, this would mean the camera's were passing their signal on by means of wires, which also meant the security station accompanying them wasn't very far. In this underground location, using wires made sense - likely the concrete did not act nice with wireless signals.

With no reaction from Nebesnogo, Nathan assumed he had understood.

Not detecting any wireless signals, Nathan had no way to hack into the camera feeds and loop them. So he switched to plan B.

Signalling Nebesnogo to move aside he unholstered his side arm. He aimed and shot one camera, quickly shifting his aim he shot the other as well.
((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 4 Vision -- shooting the cameras))

He then signalled Negesnogo to get moving fast.

The little Mudry nodded to Nathan and when he wanted space to shoot the cameras he made the space seeing he himself did not have a better idea.

When Nathan shot the second camera he dropped down in the room that the cameras were guarding. he hoovered a few inches above the floor and looked around to find the security centre so he could quickly get in there and overpower the guard in there.

((OOC: Apologies for the delays, my life's a bit chaotic and not everyone had posted yet. My next post here will be on Monday at which time we'll go back to our regular Monday-Thursday schedule.))

Moving in like the commando he was, Nathan dropped down and took out the two camera's with two quick shots.

Immediately, Nebesnogo and himself rushed past the successfully disabled camera's to the security station not far behind it.

The security station was better furnished than the concrete entry pipe, but not without its own mysteries.

The two monitors here were disabled - possibly due to the destruction of the camera's, though that seemed at least a little bit unlikely: why would there be a security station if there were only two camera's in the entire complex.

More noticeable however was the dead (and naked) Egwarian in the corner. His corpse showed no visible wounds on the front, but the blood pool surrounding the corpse made it clear he had been murdered.

Beyond the security station lay a single hallway. Before they moved on, they should probably get at least some idea of what awaited them further ahead. Perhaps the computer was still usable despite the monitors being disabled?

Nathan dropped down after Nebesnogo.

Seeing the body he immediately check the surroundings for any threats. Seeing none he checked the body.

Carefully he turned the body over to see the Egwarian's back, looking for what might have killed him.
((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 4 Vision -- looking for a fatal wound))

When he was done with that he moved to the computers. Trusting Nebesnogo to watch his back.

Nathan checked if the computers where still functioning, if they where he would try to gain access.

"I don't think he is alive any more Nathan." Nebesnogo said as he saw Nathan check the man.

"Ill go check the hallway while you check the system" he said not wanting to be near the dead person. He went to check the hallway hoping to see something interesting in that hallway while Nathan was busy with the computer.

The Egwarian had been stabbed in the back by a bladed weapon, though it was not clear whether it was a knife, a spear, a bayonette or even the sharp end of a fancy statue. Regardless, the wound had penetrated some vital organs and killed him quickly.

Accessing the computer was harder than it looked - without a screen, the system was not able to give proper feedback as to what was happening or what state it was in. It did not seem open to allowing access to files either. All Nathan was able to access was a list of the camera's and motion detectors

List of Base Camera's:

* Bar 1__________________[Activity Detected]
* Bar 2__________________[Activity Detected]
* East Living Quarters___[No activity]
* Entrance 1_____________[Disabled]
* Entrance 2_____________[Disabled]
* Hangar Bay 1___________[No activity]
* Hangar Bay 2___________[No activity]
* Hangar Bay 3___________[No activity]
* Hangar Bay 4___________[No activity]
* Maintenance Room_______[Activity Detected]
* West Living Quarters___[No activity]

Though it did not say which was where, it gave a clear indication of the size of the facility and the features it held, as well as where things were actually happening.

As Nathan worked, Nebesnogo explored the hallway ahead stealthily. The hallway split into two and Nebesnogo could hear the distant sound of voices on the left side echoing through the hall.

Nathan tapped the back of Nebesnogo's head with two fingers and gestured he had to remain silent. Nathan did it hard enough to be felt but soft enough not to hurt.

He tried to make the computer think the cameras he disabled where still online by looping earlier footage. He put the other cameras on a loop too.
((Check: 10 = 5 Force Level + 4 Reason + 1 Programming -- putting cameras on a loop))

He proceeded to follow Nebesnogo, gestured a shush to emphasise the importance of silence and sneaked in the direction the voices came from.

He nodded to acknowledge Nathan and pointed to the left side of the hallway where he had heard the voices come from.

He then went to sneak towards the sounds he heard.

The room on the other side of the door that the Jedi snuck up to appeared to be a small bar of some sort. In the centre was a serving area where two bar-tending droids could serve drinks, and above that four large monitors were hanging from the ceiling, ready to display Gravbal matches, dancing girls, music video's or whatever the patrons requested. Currently the monitors were displaying a cartoon of some sort where two aliens induced violence upon one another.

Surrounding the bar were tables with chairs where people could sit and have drinks, though they were all empty at the moment - everyone was gathered around the bar. Most of the crowd appeared to be scum of one form or another, but several mercenary soldiers were there as well and they appeared to be in control right now, from the way they were pointing guns at the low-lives they had surrounded. The people were eerily silent.

The Jedi were in a good vantage point however - the door opened up at a platform with stairs leading down on either side into the bar. This meant they had high ground against the people down there, who were as of yet unaware of the Jedi's existence, let alone their proximity...

Nathan took cover the moment he entered and hid himself from sight.
((Check: 11 = 5 Force Level + 4 Fitness + 2 Stealth -- Hiding from view))

Using his finger cam he got a good look of the bar and it's occupants. He check to see if he could recognise anyone from either the crew manifest he had read on his way here or from the security footage of the ship. ((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 4 Vision -- using his finger cam to scout the bar.))

He signalled Nebesnogo to wait and stay hidden.

Scanning through the group, Nathan recognised at least two of the ships crew amongst the lowlives who had been surrounded.

One of the men below got a message over the radio, though the Jedi could not hear the other end of the conversation.

"Yes Sir. We will check the stomach contents."

With that, the man who had gotten the message grabbed one of the crew that Nathan had recognised, dragging him out of the group and tossing him onto the ground nearby. He took out a large knife. It appeared the guy was getting ready to gut him!

Without a moment of hesitation, Nathan jumped down, grabbing his lightsaber and letting the Force speed him up.

Shooting through the room he killed as many of the mercenaries as he could with his sabre, making sure he took out the one with the knife.

If there where any mercenaries left, Nathan placed himself between the Union crew and them counting on Nebesnogo to deal with them.

Rushing in like Jedi into a crowd of villains, the two Padawans crashed the party, lightsabers flashing and almost as soon as people had finally picked up on the fact that they were even there, the battle was over, the hostage takers cut down.

The crew, and the local scumbags, looked rather frightened, as if fearing they would be next in the "to be cut down" list.

"Uhm... thanks..." a Gamorrean wearing leather stated unsure...
