Storyteller (Brend) - Storyteller
The Jedi Council asks for three Jedi to travel to sector 17 -6 to investigate a group of weapons smugglers operating on the Union border. Several attempts by Union forces to catch the smugglers in the act have failed, and the ministry of Justice has called upon the Jedi to investigate those responsible.
Please contact Jedi Master Qun Treen if you wish to participate.

Nebesnogo eventually gets to Jedi Master Qun Treen office.
"Master Qun Treen i would like to help stop the muggelers."
"Master Qun Treen i would like to help stop the muggelers."
The master was standing at a holotable, looking intently at the world projected there:

Rymea
"Good, now that you're all here, let me tell you what we know. Roughly six months ago a group of weapon smugglers was found operating on the border of the Union from somewhere in sector 17 -6. Several efforts by Union security forces to catch them in the act have, so far, been unsuccesful. About a one and half month ago, the smugglers stopped their actions. Union security assumed that they had found more profitable routes elsewhere... This seems to be a wrong assumption.
The reason the Jedi are asked to step in is the following. Last month, Union security picked up a group of ships heading towards the border from the Xil-Rymea system. Based on their signatures, it appeared to be the same group of smugglers again. Two Union patrols were sent out to intercept, but just before reaching Union space, the smugglers disappeared from all sensors. After four hours, they appeared back on the sensors just outside of Union space, this time flying back towards the Xil-Rymea system.
It is up to you to travel to Rymea", the master gestured to the planet, "and find out what is going on. You will be going in without any support or back-up, as this is outside of Union territory. Remember, it would be good to arrest those responsible, but it is far more important to determine how they are able to disappear from sensors like that.
You will fly out tomorrow in the hold of the Bulky Raven, a cargo freighter owned by an old friend. I have my own suspicions about the smugglers, so I have arranged for you three and a small vessel to be transported to sector 17 -6. From there you can make your way to Rymea. The Raven is moored at one of the industrial docks, you can't miss it."
"Do you have any questions?"
((OOC: If there's no questions, head out to the docks.
Don't forget to list your equipment! Of course, if you have questions, or want to check something with Quartermaster Nishra, go ahead.
I'd also like it if someone makes a story page so this missions shows up on the wiki.))

"Are you willing to share your suspicions with us Master Qun Treen?"
After receiving an answer from the Master Ariana turned towards the others.
"This sounds like cloaking technology to me. Maybe they have a cheap trick that achieves the same result, such as hiding in a dense nebula from our scanners. We will have to see for ourselves."
Ariana remembered something she read some time ago. She looked for her datapad and searched for news about sector 17 -6. She retrieved an article about the Hyperspace Monitoring Grid established by the Praetorian Empire and Sundarian Federation. She noticed that as she suspected the grid was available in sector 17 -6 as well.
"We should request access to the Hyperspace Monitoring Grid from the Sundarian Federation.
Since smuggling is all about locations and routes I will head to the library and request extensive star maps of sector 17 -6. Furthermore I will look into Rymea and try to find out what makes it so special for a smugglers base."
Ariana went to the library to retrieve star maps of sector 17 -6 and information about Rymea, she copies the information to her datapad. Furthermore she looked at the current access the Jedi had to the scanning grid.
After the library Ariana fetched her equipment.

((OOC: Equipment for Ariana:
- Dagger blade and regular blade lightsabers with short handles
- Communication pad (A very advanced touchscreen computer device for communication and interfacing with larger systems)
- Aerodynamic Backpack (containing First Aid Kit, Engineers Kit and the communication pad), worn
- A wireless communicator headset, worn
- Two DH-17 blaster pistols
- Two sets of 5 lightweight throwing knives
- A sealed emergency pack with survival gear for one week: (e.g., sturdy space-proof backpack, chemical water purifier, water bag, rations, single person tent, flashlight, emergency radio, a few chemical torches, sturdy rope, etc.)
- Custom-made Praetorian space-suit with boosters.
"I think it best to keep my suspicions for myself at this moment. If they prove to be false, it is better this way."
"Sir, do we have any intel on what kind of weapons they smuggled? I'd like to know what we'll be up against. Also are there any planets within a two hour range of the point the smugglers disappeared?"
Nathan asked Master Qun Treen. After he got his answer he turned to the other two.
"That's assuming these guys are just your average smugglers." He replied to Ariana.
"Especially if it really is cloaking technology. Things like that are not obtainable for smugglers, at least not without backing from a superpower.
I don't think it's a cheap trick either. Otherwise everyone would be doing it.
Some thing's not adding up here."

The Jedi master looked at Nathan in silence for a moment, then answered: "Union security reported that they have mostly been smuggling personal weapons and a few explosives. Unfortunately, they have never been caught in the act, so as far as I see it this is only speculation."
"That is an interesting thought, padawan. I suggest you go to the library to do your research."

"Master I am havink some questions. You say we will be passengers on your friends ship to there but is the vessel were using capable of the fight back? Or would we have to hitch an other ride back?" He asked after hearing how they were supposed to get there.
"What kind of vehicle will we have there any way? maybe that is better answer then telling if it can come back." he said realising that that would be more advantageous.
"I just remebered something can we also have some local money to bribe people. I know that miss Shebi was very good with some bribe money. they might tell us more if we can do that."

"Yes padawan, the smaller vessel is capable of flying you back to Unity. Do not worry. It is a small craft with room for six people, and room for some cargo... I think that you could fit at least this room in the cargo hold, maybe a little more."
((OOC: I'm assuming Nathan goes to the library as suggested and does some research. If not, please say so and consider the information unknown ^_^))
Together, Nathan and Ariana walk to the library of the Jedi order. Upon arrival the jedi went their separate ways to find the information they are looking for.
After some searching, Nathan finds the data crystal with the starmap for sector 16 -6. After plugging it into one of the holo tables he is able to browse a three dimensional representation of the starmap. Unfortunately, the Jedi order does not have any astronavigation droids in the library, so Nathan has to do a lot of the work himself.
Several hours later, Nathan finishes his search for planets within a two-hour range of the point the smugglers disappeared. Based on the speed they flew when disappearing, Nathan finds 46 systems within range. Of these 46, 31 feature a barren planet that only requires a breathing mask to survive. 12 of those are catalogued as supporting some sort of life. None of them were known to have a space port, or any other form of sentient life.
Ariana can easily find the data crystal carrying the starmap for sector 17 -6, and copies it to her datapad. Without a holoprojector she won't be able to get a perfect view on the sector, but it's better than having no map at all. Of course, to get the most out of the map, she would have to polish up her astronavigation skills.
The data on Rymea is a little more useful:

Ariana contacts Nebesnogo and Nathan using her communicator headset.
"I have contacted the Sundarian Federation embassy to request access to their hyperspace monitoring grid in sector 17 -6. I am waiting for their reply.
Futhermore the information about Rymea tells me to bring my aquata breather. I suggest you to do the same Nebesnogo.
We could talk to the owner of the Bulky Raven about bringing food and fuel in the freighter and possibly in our little ship to sell it on Rymea. A simple cover as traders.
I hope to have received a reply from the Sundarian Embassy before we head to Rymea. I am going to check out the cargo freighter that we will be travelling in."
When the others are ready Ariana heads to the cargo freighter to check out what they are dealing with.
((OOC: Ariana adds her aquata breather to her equipment.))

Ariana's short trip to the industrial docks is uneventful. While hoversleds filled with cargo containers woosh past below her on the cargo lanes to and from the industrial docks she uses one of the public terminals built into the pedestrian bridge to look up the mooring position of the Bulky Raven: pier 3-21-K.
The industrial docks, or piers as they are commonly called by natives, differ a great deal from the passenger docks. What they lack in comfort they make up in effeciency. Everywhere you can see cranes loading and unloading, droids are operating a myriad of hoversleds and other cargo transport vehicles and every once in a while a loud siren announces the docking or leaving of a large vessel and the associated burst of activity as several service crews rush forward to start working.
Pier 3-21-K is a pier for medium to large vessels. As she narowly dodgies a cargo-sled operated by a droid that is continuously shouting "Move, Move, Move!", Arian spots a large black matte vessel with the name Bulky Raven painted on it in rough white paint.
The ship is roughly 200 meters long, and the name was aptly chosen. The ship had a certain elegance to it, even though it featured a bulky belly clearly intended for carrying large volumes of the same material. A docking rig next to the vessel allowed people to climb into the ship. Just as Ariana arrived at the docking rig, a thin Neimoidian stormed out of the ship, while yelling "Next time, you pay the damn mooring bill you greedy piece of Bantha behind!"

"Ariana, anything on what kind of trouble we could encounter besides smugglers on Rymea?"
Nathan wrote down the names of the planets he found, or their coordinates if they had none, for later investigation.
When he was done he headed to the Bulky Raven.

"I am sorry sir. Is there a problem?" Ariana waited for the Neimodian to reply.
"I believe you will transport me, my companions and our ship. I would like to see what our transportation looks like from the inside."
Ariana went into the Bulky Raven to check out the inside of the ship. When she had looked around in the ship she waited for the others.
Using her communicator she contacted Nebesnogo and Nathan. "I found some information on Rymea. We should be careful with the Crimson Janissaries. You can read all information I found about Rymea at the Bulky Raven where I am now. I have also received a reply from Lady de Montrève that the Sundarian Federation is willing to give us access to their scanning grid."

Nathan quickly copies the coordinates of the planets to his datapad, before heading out.
Nebesnogo and Nathan just arrived at the entrance of the docks, as the angry Neimoidian storms out of the ship. They will still have to walk a few minutes.
The Neimoidian comes to a stop a few steps up on the docking rig, so he can look Ariana in the eyes without looking up. Up close, Ariana can clearly see that the man's gray overalls feature the image of a very fat raven.
"Hah! There's no problem at all. Just my business partner scamming me out of 540 credits. Ruddy mooring costs are higher than ever, and now he's just winning at Pazaak every single bloody time we dock here. I swear, he has to be cheating somehow. If I catch him, I'm gonna throw his behind of my vessel so fast he won't even have time to say sorry before hitting the ground." the man shouts the last sentence towards the ship, apparently under the impression that his voice would carry that far. It actually might, with the volume he produces.
He looks at Ariana. "Transport you... No no no, I have no time for passengers. You can go find some other captain to shuttle your praetorian behind around. I don't have the patience to explain to you all the ways you can die a horrible death on this rustbucket."
When the Neimoidians tirade was at an end, Nebesnogo and Nathan joined Ariana in at the bottom of the docking rig. With the Neimoidian still blocking the way, there was clearly a misunderstanding here.

"Yeah, I'm the owner. Well, half-owner actually.", he looked Ariana and her companions over. "What do I care about this master of yours?"
Just as he was about to start another sentence, a mon calamari steps out of the ship. He is wearing a gray overall as well.
"Shees, will you tone it down Huk?", the mon calamari interjects as he adresses the neimodian. He walks down the steps to stand just behind the angry man.
"I'm guessing you are those Jedi that Qun Treen told me about.", he looks at the Jedi, "Come on up, I'll give you the grand tour."
Huk shrugged, "Eh, you and your Jedi friends.", And walks the last few steps of the docking rig to let the Jedi past.
"Hi, I'm the captain of this vessel. The name's Nahdar. You should be careful where you step, one of the droids' leaking oil all over the place."
Nahdar lead the Jedi through a few cramped corridors to a small sitting room.
The room was simple, with two old sofas and a few posters on the wall depicting scenes of settings suns and white beaches with blue oceans. Several closed iron doors with manual opening wheels connected the room to other parts of the ship. A ladder lead up to a closed hatch with a nameplate "Huk's Domain!". The ladder was mirrored on the other side by one leading up to a hatch where "Nahdar's Loft" was written with bright red permapaint. The final piece of decor was an enourmous holoscreen covering most of the wall opposite of the larger sofa. Above it were three lights: purple, green and yellow.
"From here you can go to anywhere on the ship. Kitchen's there, engine room -- which you ought to stay out of, that's Huk's thing -- over there. Bridge is down there. Hold monitoring is that way, through the kitchen. Droid bay is over there, don't go in if the yellow light's on! You'll suffocate."
He quickly lead them through the kitchen and into the monitoring room. The monitoring room consists of a chair, three windows with blackness behind them and a droid whacking a tube with a hammer while spurting oil onto the floor.
Nahdar ignores the droid, and flips a lever on the controls. After a few seconds, rows of lighting fixtures start glowing, and light up the hold: a massive empty space roughly 150 meters long, 60 high and 80 wide with a single vessel standing in the middle.
"And that's where you'll be during the trip.", Nahdar points to the vessel. He gives the three Jedi a big smile.
"Well that's it really. If there's nothing else, I'll let you into the hold so you can get comfy in your ship before we take off."

Nathan took note of the fact the data said to be careful when dealing with Crimson Janissaries. A small part of him hoped that if they landed on Rymea, they would encounter a sand storm. A good sandblasting worked miracles on his cybernetic body. Then again, his fellow jedi probably didn't agree with him.
He took in the Raven carefully. He was akin to the sleek military vessels the Astrians used.
Giving the ship they would use a quick check. Not that he really knew anything about ships.
He thanked the Raven's captain for his help. Then waved over Ariana and Nebesnogo.
"I'd like it if we had someone on watch for the time we're on the Bulky Raven." Nathan told his fellow jedi in a hushed voice. "I trust Master Qun Treen's judgement, but I think its better to edge on the side of caution."
