The guide looks at Darones and replies: "About two and a half week's travel to the north to the village of Orilon, then another week west along the edge of the great desert. Not something you should do on a whim, or without companions."

((OOC: @Darones: Since there's currently a party split going on, I suggest not going there (if going at all in this mission) without the rest.

@All: I have created a very large set of options and mysteries to busy yourselves with. But do not forget your actual mission here. Investigating all these other things will surely see you spend way too much time here in this system, and might even help you fail your mission if you are away looking at something while things go wrong with the delivery!

If you want to investigate some other rumour, I'm happy to run additional missions if your characters want to come back later and investigate. That'll also give both players and ST the option to have a more focussed mission -- which helps both with keeping things going.))

"I see," Darones said as he heard what the old guide had to say about traveling towards the temple.

For now he remained with Danar Gistor, while he waited for Jaicen and Ariana to join him on Kons.

Ariana starts asking around for the location of the nomads. Since they kept their end of the bargain, it is time they honor their part of the deal. When she finds the nomads she travels to them to meet the captain.

"I will travel to Kon and start searching for the captain of the nomad ship from there."

Ariana wants to find the captain, that they met before, not the rude nomads that she already talked to when they arrived.

"Will you join me Jaicen? We could join up with the rest first and share some thoughts."

((OOC: Ok. Maybe you should be a little more explitic in your post about what you're actually doing. As far as can be read from the post, you simply ask around near the library... Normally not really a problem, but right now it is kinda relevant, since no actual supplies have yet been delivered in the timeline of this mission -- Darones explicitly held off the actual deliveries until more information was available, so you have not yet kept up your end of the bargain.

I want to prevent a clash between the nomands and the Jedi because of an OOC misunderstanding. Also, I have a final event planned with the actual first delivery of goods ^_^

EDIT: Apparently you write faster than I think :P Also, it is "Kons" not "Kon", don't know why multiple players keep doing this wrong ~_~))

Gistor and his team made detailed notes and short videos of the situation and what supplies were necessary. The blue holo display from his armour popped up regurarly after a scan or during the making of notes or a video.

After the news of the science team, Gistor agreed with Darones to stay here to wait for the rest of the team. He would love to investigate the temple, but there are more important tasks at hand.

When everybody is once again assembled he shared their findings: "Greetings. It seems that the resources of the Union are most welcome here! But it also seems that help will be in vein if these quakes don't stop. Those green flashes... sounds like blaster fire to me. What useful have you learned?"

"Yup, I am coming with you Ariana, after I finish taking notes from this book, one hour please" Jaicen's TG-100 responded to Knight Ariana. Afterwards he travelled with Ariana towards the rest of the team.

"Great that we could make a difference!" Jaicen's Droid responded with a voice which could resemble gladness. "Are the supplies going to the right persons?"

"I do not know whether those green flashes are blaster fire, blaster fire is red right? But it is surely interesting to look at it, couldn't it be gas which is burning?" ((OOC: If this is general knowledge that blaster fire can be green too, Jaicen doesn't say this))

Then Jaicen enthousiastically starts to tell what he has learned in the library.

((OOC: It is general knowledge that blaster fire can have different colours (not only red and green, but also blue, yellow, purple etc.). Although red and green are in my eyes the most common ones.))

"I'm not convinced its blaster fire either,"

Darones said,

"It doesn't match the injuries of the death we found. Since they died of radiation exposure, I would stipulate that it is most likely a device in the temple or an explosive of sorts that caused the destruction of the temple, and possibly the earthquake as well.

We regards to the delivery of the aid goods, I suggest that we bring them in on one or several central locations, and transport them, under guard from there. Here seems to be a good place to start."

"I wholeheartedly agree with Darones Rei, Let's make sure first the aid arrives at the right designation and then, let's investigate this likely lead to the cause."

I have waited for a few more days for someone to actually do something, but at the moment you are simply standing around discussing things. I'll wait to see what you decide to do.))

"Some blaster fire, especially orbital bombardment can leave radiation blasts. But we of ministry agree that a successful delivery has priority. Once that is settled, we can investigate the source of the problem.

Although, we are with enough people. Ariana, we believe it can't really hurt if you take a look at the temple with one of the Padawans. And when we require your help, we can always contact you by radio."

Gistor and his team stays on Kons, in the disaster control headquarters or however you want to call it, till the first arrival of the emergency supplies.

"True,"

Darones stated in response to Danar Gistor's remark on orbital bombardment.

"However, I'm not so sure about going to the temple just yet. Our official task here is an other one, then to investigate the cause of the earthquake. That's best left to some other time I think. Handing out the aid goods, should be our first priority now."

With that said, and if no one other objections were raised, Darones made contact with the fleet to bring in the first shipments of aid goods to their current location.

After sharing information with the others about what they learned in the library Ariana was not really any wiser about what happened here. "A radioactive weapon still seems to be the most logical explanation of what happened here. I will contact captain Condottiero to provide an escort with the first shipment of goods. I will also try to contact captain Aleixo Kindalin of the nomads."

Ariana first opened a secure communication channel to the Bright Sagittari Emerald. "Captain Condottiero we are all on Kons now. We will start distributing the aid goods as soon as possible. Captain, please provide a small military escort for the first shipment of aid goods and some personnel to aid in the distribution."

After contacting their own vessel Ariana opened a communication channel to the nomads on or around Kons.

This is Jedi Knight Ariana Danacia on Kons, could you provide me with the location of captain Aleixo Kindalin or arrange a meeting for us to speak with him in person?

Captain Condottiero and his crew were monitoring the situation on and around Kons. The whole crew was still on standby to come into action on a moments notice. After receiving the message from Ariana captain Pedro Condottiero responded.

"We have been expecting your call commander Danacia. We have two fighter squads on standby and several armored personnel carriers that can depart within 5 minutes. We will send them together with the first shipment to your current position."

Within minutes the fighter jets scrambled. Although there was no immediate danger the soldiers were eager to deploy.

"We should definately investigate the radioactivity and I do not see the point of us waiting for the delivery to be finished, Danar Gistor can do that himself I suppose, but since you think it is the wisest action Ariana Danacia: I will wait." After hearing the communications, Jaicen remained silently and looked up to the sky, trying to discern to fighter jets in the sky.

It took about ten minutes before the first shuttles carrying aid goods were visible in the air. Ariana was able to use that time to get a hold of the vessel of captain Kindalin, and arrange a meeting with the captain on the planet.

Jaicen could easily make out the shuttles now as they flew over the scientific camp and proceeded to set down outside of the camp, near the road to the city.

Just as Ariana finishes passing on the coordinates of where they currently are, so the captain can drop by later on the day, she is hailed by the Praetorian troops send with the goods. "I think you better come handle this, commander Danacia", comes the voice of a Praetorian officer over the comms.

As the Jedi move towards the side of the camp to have a better view of where the shuttles set down, they can see a mob of about fourty people walking toward the shuttles with haste while the soldiers are unloading the aid goods. Several of the mob carry protesting signs with slogans like "Godless aid is no aid!", "Go away heathens!" and "Thou shalt not corrupt!". Two of the people in the mob were clearly recognizable by as religious figures of one sort or another.

"O crap, what are those imbeciles doing here" Jaicen mutters barely audible to himself. Then looking around with a little guilt in his eyes, wondering if anybody heard him.

TG-100 says in a normal voice: "I wonder what god they stand for, hmm luckily there are only 30 of them." Then TG-100 turns his head a few times and looks intensively through the crowd, locating the leaders the droid starts to walk the way towards them, with Jaicen a few meters behind him. Meanwhile Jaicen tries to figure out which god these people here are worshopping, from his time at the library.

IF Jaicen arrives, without any intervention from the other Jedi, or meteors crashing on his head:
The droid is gently pushing aside the people who are standing in front of him.

IF this succeeds: Adressing the two religious figures: "Hello, I am Jaicen's droid. I, Jaicen, am over there with the other people" The TG-100 points at Jaicen. "I would like to point out that we are definately not heathens and not godless, we are Jedi, and we adhere strict religious principles, which correspond to several of your divine host, but bear a different name. Furthermore I must assure you that these goods are carefully blessed by the Jedi priests. We even asked Fi-lingri and Fi-milli for their blessing in our travels towards you and the god for aid towards strangers in need."

((OOC: @Jaicen: You're also doing it in a way that could lead to an OOC mess :P

Let me explain why: Normally, in a tabletop roleplay, people can more easily interrupt each other, for example if they want their character to step in and stop someone. In a forum that is not possible, because you write your post in one go. So, the basis of the forum roleplay we do here is that you are allowed to take one (1) significant action per turn. This allows other players -- which includes the ST -- to interrupt. Of course, this is a bit of a guideline, so you'll regularly see people post more than one action in a post without it being problematic, it depends on the impact of the actions, and is not a very exact science.

In this case, you are using a single post to (a) clearly state your IC opinion and describing your first action, and (b) follow up on your first action. In (b) you assume that (a) went off without a hitch and thereby remove the ability to interrupt (for players) or have the action fail (for STs).

Some tricks to manage the very common occurrence of multiple steps in a plan:

• If your post seems to have a natural "Wait!" moment in it, you probably have more than one significant action,
• Signal your intent to the other players form the first step (Here, that would be something like "TG-100 starts walking towards the leaders of the group, with Jaicen intend to give them an earful about his being a heathen and godless."),
• In rare occasions, posting what we call a "conditional" is okay. That would be "I do A. If A works, then I'll do B.", but most STs (myself included) rather see two separate posts,
• We greatly prefer posting speed over multiple action.

While writing this I realize we do not really have a forum post or guide I can point to for such basic information. We only have the OOC: Forum Formatting Conventions, but that's about formatting, not roleplay etiquette. I hope you're not annoyed by the length of the explanation -- I plan on gathering these posts into a sort of RP etiquette post later on so we have something to refer to next time the situation comes up ^_^


Additionally: Your droid walking over there is going to take a while, and since the protesters are still walking towards the landing site they are not yet there. So, the second action is going to be at least half a minut later. Furthermore, the protesters are some ways removed from both the camp and the landing site. The Control Machine power (Rank 1) works to approximately 10 meters. Sending the droid into the group would move it further than 10 meters, so you would lose your contact with the droid. I think it can autonomously "Go to the group's leader.", but once there it is on it's own... I suggest that you edit your post because of the Control Machine range limitations; otherwise the second action will fail regardless of whether other players interrupt.))
