[14 -8] Investigating the Tunuaranan moonquakes: Space Team
"I agree that it looks like we are missing something. Take your time. Trust in the force. We will look at the data while you are meditating."
Ariana started to look at the data creating the predictive algorithm with the help of the scientists.

((OOC: Ariana's check: Approved.
Jaicen's check: Failed. While meditating on unknown connections is a possibility, it is also something that is exceedingly difficult — to the point that even Jedi Masters fail to do so or incorrectly interpret what they intuit. Intuition allows a Jedi to see patterns in data that they might have missed before, but they must have seen the data itself before their subconscious mind can make sense of it. Such a level of intuition is much more difficult than using the Force to guide your physical actions, or even to notice small social cues. A check of 10 is not high enough to find a connection. But the Force works in mysterious ways.))
Together with the scientists, Ariana starts work on the predicate algorithm.
Meanwhile, Jaicen retreats to a quiet spot in the tent to meditate on the connections between all he knows about the quakes. He lets his mind wander and considers the relations between those he spoke to and heard of. He knows that the people here speak of unexplainable powers, supposedly granted by the gods, and that there are many rumours about the powers of several of those chosen by the gods. But none of these rumours speak of powers of the scope that they could produce earthquakes...
The Force and religion have always had an entangled past, this is no different in the Union. Many Union worlds view the Jedi as a religious order, and give them the benefits that come with being this order: lands, exemption from many taxes, and respect and authority on matters of morality. It would not be strange for the temples on these moons to be built in places strong in the Force.
He does not seem to find the connection between the quakes and other events here. As he comes out of his meditation, he suddenly has a feeling that he is fast moving forward in a circle, as if his frame of reference does not match with what he is seeing. But the feeling subsides as soon as it comes over him, though it did leave him grabbing for the armrests of his hoverchair.
Ariana had already finished the algorithm, and was working on producing a prediction for the next major quake. The work was not fast, as the scientists had mediocre equipment; and Ariana's advanced data pad can only handle so much. But eventually, they produce a workable prediction: the next major quake will be on the equator, one epicentre before the point where Darones and Trigiel are.
((OOC: You are now on cycle 3/4
My missions always seem to run on for too long. I would strongly prefer to round off this mission after the analysis cycles. That way, the Jedi will have made tangible progress — they know more about the going-ons here — without running the mission for much longer.
A follow-up missions will come into being eventually. After I have had a long hard think on how to structure my missions to be shorter and quicker.))

((OOC: Doesn't matter, I suspected as much))
Jaicen came back after a while and went directly to Ariana: "I must admit I did not find a direct link between events happening and I am not sure whether this was a good use of my time, but I realized that we are currently thinking in circles, it's like..... we are looking at causes and effects, while the effects are origins of the causes, and so on. What we are looking at and referencing on is not what we are seeing."
Jaicen paused a bit, trying to regain his breath and continued:
"The places and temples are obviously on places with a large force presence. Could it be that... someone is influencing this and cause this cascade of circle events?"
Did you make a prediction on the next earthquake? If it's at the place where Trigiel and Darones are within the time they are there, they might be screwed. Can we even contact them?"
((OOC: I don't mind the length of the mission, it's related on the activity of the people involved which makes it longer / shorter in my opinion.))

((OOC: I'm kinda waiting around for Ariana to do something here, like reply to Jaicen. If that doesn't happen in the next week, I suggest that Jaicen comes up with a plan...))
((OOC: Agreed))
"I agree that we know more now, however it does not really help us...
the next major quake should be on the equator, one epicentre before the point where Darones and Trigiel currently are.
We have one more chance to test another hypotheses together with these scientists before we have to go and pick up Trigiel and Darones.
Let's continue with the work we did last cycle. We predicted where the next quake is most likely to happen. Let's find out when it will happen."
Ariana continues the work with the scientists to predict the time that they have till the next earthquake will hit.

"Good to hear they will not die by the earthquake!." Jaicen responded. "If we know when the next earthquake will happen, we can visit there by ship, warn the people and see what is actually going on there!. I agree with finding out when it will happen!."
With that, Jaicen continued helping Ariana by defining a timeframe of the next quake.

((OOC: That scores. Clearly, this is what you two were training for! Both checks approved!))
Everyone working together, they soon concluded that the next major quake would be in 4 days, 18 hours and 22 minutes. The accuracy of the prediction is mostly due to the two Jedi adjusting and correcting their analytical model to a degree that the scientists simply cannot achieve in only a few hours (and without dedicated equipment).
((OOC: That was the last of the analysis cycles!))

After concluding their research Ariana turned towards the group. "Good work everyone. I would like to thank you all for your commitment the last few days."
Ariana looked at the leader of the scientists. "Will you contact the authorities and share this important information with them so they can prepare for any evacuations and notify the people around that area? We could drop you off somewhere if you don't have any transport at hand at the moment. Time is of the essence. We need to pick up our fellow Jedi since we agreed to rendezvous with them in seven days. It was a pleasure working with you."
Ariana turned towards Jaicen. "Jaicen, do you have anything to add? We should pack quickly and fly to the location we discussed with Darones and Trigiel."
Ariana started packing the equipment she had at hand while waiting for their reactions.

"I will.", was the simple reply from the leader of the scientists. He immediately directs some scientists to get to the radio tent to contact nearby cities to relay the message, while he himself went to compose a report of the information so far to present to relevant local leaders.
Jaicen thanks all the scientists who worked with them for their good work and their aid. He really appreciated working with them. TG-100 said to Ariana: "Allright, we should definetly fly to them and see what they discovered. Hopefully we can combine everything and make an educated guess to what is happening here. Afterwards we should inform the duke and the bisshop of our findings: Maybe they could also provide additional insights."
Jaicen also let TG-100, his medical droid and his astromech pack his stuff, before going into the ship. Waiting for Ariana to take off, with or without the scientists.

When they were packed and ready to go Ariana did the small preflight check and started their ship.
Ariana plotted a course towards the meeting point where they dropped of Trigiel and Darones. Preparing to travel through the storm again.

The preflight checks were quickly done with, and with Ariana at the helm the ship was off towards the storm front.
The situation has not improved, but Ariana's experiences from the previous time she flew throught the outskirts of the storm helps her plot a safe course.
Eventually, after a few tense moments of the ship being tossed around by the turbulence, Ariana set the ship down solidly on the ground next to a large rock outcropping that protects the ship from the worst of the storm. Now they would simply have to wait for the other team to show up.
According to the plan, the other team should show up at the end of the day, leaving the Jedi about three hours to kill.
((OOC: Since the other thread is taking their sweet time, I'd like to learn from your next post what you will be doing during the first hour, so I can run a small event to fill the time ^_^))

Jaicen will post a message to Lady Vitress on radio, after tinkering on his droids during the flight: "Hey Vitress, how are you doing' you said I could visit you after the mission. Since we are almost done, where can we meet up?"

Without knowing the frequency, or directional band to adjust the radio for, Jaicen isn't able to reach lady Vitress by radio directly.
Normally, Jaicen would be able to radio out to the scientist camp or another well-known receiver location to ask them to relay a message. But the interference from the storm is wreaking havoc will the more delicate electronic systems of the ship, making long-range radio transmissions nearly impossible.
Besides, having has message relayed would mean that the people in between got to listen in as well... And that might not be something Jaicen (or lady Vitress) would like.

With transmitting a message having failed due to the storm, Jaicen grabbed a radiation meter from the ship and counted the radiation, it would probably still be interesting to notice if it has changed.
If nothing really changed in the radiation, Jaicen decided to kill time at a safe place from Ariana and the ship, by shooting his blaster at TG-100 and train it further in the Soresu style.

Ariana waited in the ship. She sat down and meditated on what they learned.
