((OOC: I was already ready to depart o_O))

"Why don't we simply go there, and than see about getting in?", Tera replies to the questions as Darones is working.

"I have no problem with flying for a while.", was all Tera replied to Darones' question about flying. She doesn't really understand his need to discuss that.

Now, with her equipment collected, and her lightsabers waterproofed, she is ready to depart.

"Ride it as it comes..." Darones replied, "I must say I like that attitude."

And with that Darones gather the rest of his equipment and went towards their spacecraft, ready to depart.

((OOC: I was waiting for an answer still :)))

The Jedi both entered the BT-7 Thunderclap ship. It was an assault ship model with two hand operated laser cannons, a streamlined hull, prototype armor plating and flexible bulkheads. It also contained a modular shield, which could be adapted in combat situations. Luckily the ship also contained enough luxuries and supplies for two people to make a long journey. There were even some entertainment systems aboard.
Image

The flight through Union space was rather uneventful. From the Bossy Spine the Jedi went past the Deominus system into unclaimed territory.
15 minutes before arriving at the Dac system and dropping out of hyperspace the nav computer announced that arrival was imminent. Prompting the Jedi to the cockpit. From the scanning console it could be seen that there was indeed a neutron star with a total of 15 planets around it. Only one planet, the goldilocks planet which was probably Dac Cala, had a small moon around it. Several space stations were in orbit and some freighters were travelling around the planet and system.

((OOC: I compared stats))
There was a lot of debris within the system visible on the scanning computer, it looked like someone dropped had dropped a lot of garbage, metal and other rubble rather recently. Darones then noticed at least a few hundred thousand tiny subspace aberrations around the planet, which the scanner could not identify. Zooming in on the aberrations, they didn't look like weapons platforms or any normal spacestructure known to the jedi. It looked mostly like a bacta tank.

The Jedi then arrived at the [15-9] system and were immediately hailed by a monotonous and bored sounding Twi'leck.:
"This is Dac Cala Space control, please identify your registration number or your business here. Under the order of Grandmaster Nez'livra of the Slave Rebellion."

((OOC: Right, FWURG has been slipping my mind a bit as of late.

After reading the ST post, it appears as if we observe the system we are entering while still in hyperspace 15 minutes away of our destination. This is not actually possible within the game world due to the hyperspace works: information on Hyperspace.

I'm going to continue under the assumption that we drop out of hyperspace first, and then use the scanning console to avail ourselves of the information — and that we are hailed while scanning around. Jhovall, if this does not work for you let me know and I'll remove this post so you can remedy in a way you see fit.))

Somewhat puzzled by the strange readings from the scanning console, Tera picks up the microphone of the radio, and replies: "We receive you Dac Cala Space control. This is the mercenary ship Thunderclap, we are here to pick up a job. Thunderclap out."

((OOC: although darones didn't respond, I'd like to continue the story.))

A reply came quickly and the Twi'leck didn't change his attitude:
"Understood, you are welcome. The toll fee is 2000 credits for the grandmaster and 200 for space control: Me. Payment can be performed on the planet, or on one of the spacestations."

((OOC: I have no idea how much a credit is worth, but if you brought money along the toll and the bribe will be payable.))

((OOC: We did not explicitly pack loads of credits, but several STs assume that you bring at least some credits along even if you do not list them in your "equipment" for the same reasons you don't have to list your clothing. Some background and discussion on this (intertwined with another matter) can be found in Note on Credits and Cyborg/Space Suits. I'm assuming that we have some credits, since you explicitly state that the toll and bribe are payable of we brought money along. If you disagree and assume that we only bring along the things we explicitly listed, feel free to state so, and I'll change my post accordingly.))

"Roger that, Dac Cala space control. We are beginning our approach to the planet."

With that, she starts the landing sequence, hoping to put the ship down in one of the larger space ports on the surface. As she does so, she dryly states to Darones:

"Could you make sure that we are carrying everything of value with us once we land? I have heard that Slave Rebellion space ports are notoriously insecure. Even after locking the ship, it might be best if there's nothing to steal."

((Check: 8 = 4 Force Level + 3 Vision + 1 Pilot -- landing))

((OOC: They're payable. And I assumed you have some cash with you.)).

10-4. And as word of advice, since you are not native to this planet, be carefull with the Tipanha, they are mindless savages. Dac Cala Space control out.

Meanwhile Tera finds the largest spacesport on the planet, located on a small island on the northern hemisphere and as she starts the landing procedure she notices that there are several docks around the spaceport, clearly intended to transfer goods from within the sea to the surface.

((OOC: The arrival will happen after Darones made a respons or after a week.))

"Sure Tara," Darones said in response as she proceeded with docking the ship, "not that we brought much anyway, besides perhaps this ship itself."

Darones then gathered up most of their things and checked the ship to see if their was anything on board someone might consider either valuable or contraband.

Tera was able to land the ship safely on the spaceport on the small island. As they approached the planet Tera saw the island used to be a jungle before being industrialized. This industrialization happened quite a long time, since a lot of both the spaceship docks and the water docks on the edge of the island were in serious disrepair and plants had overgrown some of the structures. The spacedock and its main building of commerce wasn't much better off. Meanwhile Darones secured all valuable cargo, he locked away some of the food rations, blankets and regular stuff.

((OOC: I assume you are not dressed in typical Jedi robes, showing lightsabers etc. or the response would be different))

The Tunderclap was lead to a decent sized landing place, which was ofcourse somewhat overgrown and when the pair got out of the spaceship they were greeted by hot weather: It was an estimated 35 degrees on the island and the humidity was very high. They were greeted by a Twi'leck who introduced himself as Oaduglulez. He explained the costums and the rules to the pair, which were quite standard and led them to a payment booth where they had to pay their shipping fee. The Jedi were allowed to store their ship for a whole month on the platform and fuel refull would be performed this afternoon.

Until the payment booth the main people they saw were Twi'lecks. But after paying and entering the citystation itself the Jedi saw what the announcer meant with the Tipanha. They were little piranha-like beings with sharp teeth, two arms and two legs which mostly looked like they were build for swimming. The Tipanha were were mainly busy with hauling things. They looked very twitchy, eyeing the Jedi, and the other humanoids on the station as if they would be attacked any minute now. Every group of Tipanha Female was led by a Twi'Lek.
((OOC: Still work in progress)).

Looking for directions the Jedi saw several possibilities: A Tradehub, A banana bar with the huttese name of "Ban nana a re zeh be est", the local authorities/"police", A place called "Tipanha sleeping baths", The waterdocks or the administrations office of the slave rebellion rulers. Alternatively they could always try to talk to someone.

((OOC: Heya,

Your link isn't working. What you probably want to do is simply [ wiki ]Tipanha Female[ /wiki ] (without the spaces in the 'wiki' tags, those are there so the forum doesn't turn my example into a link...). This will work with any wikipage that doesn't have apostrophes and such in it.

Also, unless this [1st sex] cannot reproduce with the other Tipanha sexes, it should really not have a separate page — it is just part of the Tipanha species, and as such it goes on the Tipanha page, not the "Tipanha female" page... Even a species with five sexes gets one page, and the difference in sexes is simply described on that page. Just like someone isn't of the Human female species, but simply of the Human species.

In the same vein of species naming: Unless you are talking about a different species, Twi'lek are spelled just that (without a "c"). (Note by the way that I did get the apostrophe working in that wiki link by using: [mono[ wiki=ic:twi_lek ]Twi'lek[/wiki][ /mono ], again with the spaces to allow demonstration.)

On a more RP related matter: Tera is wearing what you can see in the image: a dark robe with a dark hood. Her lightsabers are carried under the robe, on her belt, but not necessarily perfectly invisible. If you observer her for a while, and have some experience spotting hiddin weapons, you can probably spot them while she walks around. Not sure if that changes your previous post, but I just wanted to put it out there to make sure that nothing fishy is going on with Tera's clothing from your perspective when I describe her actions later on.))

((OOC: I wanted them to have distinct attributes, since I designed every sex (3 actually) to be different. That is why I wanted to make different pages for them.

About the Twi'lek, that is just a spelling mistake, they are the same people.

About the clothing: Allright, they are just local security who are not that strict and investigative, if It would be obvious you were jedi they would respond differently of course. If you are just wearing a robe that might just raise an eyebrow, but there are more people in the universe that are wearing robes and you are far away from the Union.))

((OOC: That's kinda not how racial abilities work, the give broad characteristics of biological (and sometimes cultural) aspects over the whole species... Regardless:

If you plan on playing them as PCs you need to get approval anyway, and you can pitch your idea of "I want three species with different abilities, but actually they are the same species" in the OOC thread related to your approval request. (There's actually a special called Augmented Species you can take to get 1 additional racial characteristic on your species, but that species may only be 10% of your total population; that would be a good starting point?)

If you do not plan on playing them as PCs then please, do not make them special just because. There is no need to create three full pages, simply make a single page, pick three racial abilities (one for each sex, for example) and explain the intricacies of the species sex system and the sexual trimorphism that creates certain advantages for certain sexes. The racial characteristics won't matter all that much anyway, and it stand to reason that there's about 33% of each sex in the species' population, which neatly explains the 3 racial characteristics.

During roleplay, simply highlight the great differences between their sexes, and describe them on the Tipanha page as we discover the interesting relations between the sexes and such. That will be much more telling of their differences than three wiki pages!

Anyway, if you still feel it would be better to make three separate pages, go for it! But I think that if your goal is to have somewhat of a record of this custom species for this world, a single page will very likely be enough effort to write (given that it's about the descriptions and such, and very little about what the infobox says their racial characteristics are)))

((OOC: I am planning on playing them as PC's, depending how the story arc goes. I would like to take augmented species yes. Since the sexes are really different, both physically and mentally, I will pitch the idea when I am through with introducing them to give some exploration for you guys to do. If they will just remain a NPC race it is indeed useless to make 3 pages: I will stick to one racepage for the time being.

On a sidenote: Pixie has expressed her desire to join the mission, now that she is back from vacation, I am inclined to let her because she posts actively and the story had a max of 3 people, but what is your opinion on this.))

((OOC: On the wiki page: maybe it is easiest to simply remove the one you have now, see how it turns out during the missions and afterwards pitch your idea? That's the smallest amount of work needed right now ^_^ (And you'll probably want to change the page anyway after you have gotten approval for your new race.)

(As a side note: it is usually frowned upon to storytell something into existence and then switch over and claim it as a PC-related thing for yourself. I shan't get into the reasons for why this is not a good idea; just be aware that doing such will not make it easier to get approval, and might even make it more difficult just by how it is perceived by other players.)

On Pixie joining: I am not against it, but it's a bit of a pity that we won't get to do proper introductions then — with us already having arrived out our destination and such...))
