"So I see, " Darones said to Ariana "Actually I'm rather curious to hear what they have to say about our 'bucket of bolts'. "
With that he left his fellow Jedi behind and crossed over to the entrance of the Hangar bay where the Empress her party was waiting. Darones didn't recognize any of them besides Lady Dewa Misaki and one other women, but he knew one of them was the Empress, therefore he had decided to great her first when he addressed the group.
"Your Imperial Majesty," he started out while he, as his customary greeting, gave a short bow, "It a great privilege to have you and your party with us. My name is Darones Rei, and my fellow Jedi and myself are honored to make your acquaintance and provide our services on this diplomatic effort.
If you would be so kind as to follow me to our ship," Darones said as he pointed back towards the cargo vessel sitting in the bay, "I'll admit she does look a bit old and beat, but I'll assure your Imperial Majesty that not all is what it seems and once inside I hope that your Imperial Majesty will be pleasantly surprised."

Lady Dewa stepped toward Darones, and bowed.
"Padawan Darones, I am happy that you are here."
She looked over at the seemingly derelict vessel.
"Surely, you are joking?", she said with clear surprise in her voice. "Her Imperial Majesty travels in a well-appointed vessel, proudly displaying the colours of the Veolian Commonwealth, or at least the Union. To suggest that we would sneak into Slave Rebellion territory in such a derelict cargo vessel is outrageous!
What kind of message would this send? These are honest and open negotiations, we should not project an attitude of secrecy by trying to sneak over the border. We should display our allegiance clearly, so the Slave Rebellion knows of our arrival and everyone is clear on our intention and the diplomatic status of our vessel."
The expecting eyes of all veolian women were on Darones now, and the albino woman seemed amused for some reason.

Darones answered Lady Dewa rather plainly,
"I wouldn't joke with regards to the Empress and her safety, in fact my fellow pawadan and myself are tasked with her protection. And if we were to do as you suggest then perhaps you could explain to me why the Empress would be denied the comfort of the Imperial yacht, with a proper escort befitting her station, to travel to the slave rebellion.
Surely you can understand that that would not be the wisest choice, given the current state of disarray within the Slave Rebellion. It would attract unwanted attention from both refugees and pirates, I would dare say that if the Empress would travel in grandeur she might never reach her destination, and therefore never attend the negotiations."
Darones studied the group carefully as he explained the reasoning behind the Jedi's choice for the cargo vessel. They had indeed considered a starcruiser or yacht, but had decided that it would be unwise as it would provide may people with an interesting target to either raid or turn to for help.
"I assume you have seen the conditions on the refugee fleet which traveled to the Hepra System and the circumstances in which the refugees your people have so graciously welcomed had to survive. Traveling in a ship displaying the wealth of the Union or the Commonwealth would only lead to refugees seeking our aid, be it for food or medicine, and once we run out of the limit supplies we could bring on such a vessel, they would turn on us and strip the vessel clean of anything worth salvaging, most like killing us in the process.
No Milady, our current choice is much better suited for our needs."

"Misaki, the boy has a point.", the albino woman said in fluent galactic. "Let us see this ship, before commenting on the wisdom of the Jedi."
"Of course, your imperial majesty", was the short reply by Lady Dewa.
The empress started to walk toward the other two padawan near the ship, gesturing Darones to come along. She is swiftly followed by her entourage, as both the twi'lek, the human, the four noblewomen and two of the remaining bodyguards started toward the ship.
When she is near the ship, she directs her attention to the human girl in the group: "Shandryss, please examine the craft while I speak with the Jedi."
With a short bow toward the empress, the human walked toward the vessel, accompanied by one of the hooded bodyguards.
"Shandryss will take her time, she likes to be thorough.", the empress said with a smile, "I would like to know my protectors before we leave."
"Of course, your imperial majesty", was the short reply by Lady Dewa.

He makes a bow to recognise her high status, attempting to speak formally and not offend the empress.
"I apologise for the exterior of the ship, but as Darones mentioned it was chosen for safety. I am sure you will find the inside to your liking, it has been under special oversight from our quartermaster.
It is a great honour to protect you, while I hope you do not have any need of us. Do you want to know anything specifically about your protectors?"
While saying this he looked straight at the empress, afterwards glancing around at the entourage that followed her.

"Your majesty, my name is Ariana Danacia, I am sponsored by the Praetorian Empire.
Since we are leaving Union in secrecy to make sure that we do not make ourselves a target for the Hutt we chose a small ship that will be capable of transporting us to the meeting location discretely. If we would leave Unity on a large cruiser with banners of the Veolian Commonwealth we will be an obvious target.
The vessel we are traveling in has been retrofitted from the inside. It contains luxury quarters in the cargo bay with enough storage space. Furthermore the engines, weapons and shielding and armor plating of the vessel have been renewed. "

"Your Imperial Majesty," Darones said as he payed the Empress his respects, "My name is Darones Rei, originally from and sponsored by the Sundarian Federation. It is a pleasure and honor to meet you. I do hope that your stay with us will be fruitful and that the pending negotiations result in a more stable and safer region, in which trade and diplomatic relations can flourish."
He then rather boldly added, in order to avoid painful situations later if the subject should come to pass,
"Should your Imperial Majesty have any direct questions about my homeworld, I would suggest that you ask the Lady de Montrève to arrange a guided tour for your Imperial Majesty, as my stay there was short and I don't remember much of it since I was very young when I left. If desired however, I could provide some more insight into the Sundarian customs and culture.

The empress waited patiently for each jedi's introduction.
She paid careful attention to the introductory remarks of each jedi, turning her head to look directly at the speaking jedi. Eerily enough, the attention of the two remaining handmaidens moved synchronously with that of the empress, staring at the jedi as if they were a single person with three pairs of eyes.
A few moments after the jedi introduced themselves the empress stepped slightly forward.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, honoured padawans.
Padawan Rei, do not worry about questions, I have recently spoken with senator de Montrève, and I do not have any questions that can not wait until after this mission.
Padawan Danacia, I appreciate the thought that went into the choice of vessel. And while I am not afraid of the Hutt families, I am glad that my protectors think of such things.
Padawan Shaedys, there is nothing that I want to ask of you at this moment. Though I am sure that there will be time for conversation during the voyage. I would be interested in hearing about..."
Suddenly, the empress was interrupted by the human woman coming from the ship, with a clearly angry visage.

The human walked down the ramp of the ship, straight at the three Jedi.
"This vessel is only fit for carrying cheap whores, and is an insult to the empress!", if the loudness of her voice was any indication of her emotional state, this woman was extremely angry. "My mistress can not travel on this cheap pleasure barge of yours!"
She stood in front of the Jedi.
"This ship has no baths but only a few showers, no hallways but just a cargo hold with everything smacked together, no clean galley, no chef or servants so there will only be rations to eat, and worst of all: it has beds in every room!"
At the last part of her explanation, the jedi could see the entourage of the empress look surprised, immediately followed by some very angry looks from most of the women. The empress herself remained surprisingly calm, though a hint of anger could be seen flashing across her face.

Our quartermaster used Theelin architecture for the quarters. Since Theelin and Veolians need sleep every room has a bed. I will ask the Quarter master to replace the beds, in the master bedroom and seven other quarters, with comfortable chairs. Unfortunately we have no room in the ship for luxury baths or a luxury galley. When we stop to resupply on our journey we can look for locations that provide such facilities. Will this be sufficient?"

The empress seemed calm enough while she listened to the exchange between her slave Shandryss and Ariana. Just as Shandryss started to reply, the empress stepped toward her and grabbed her by the throat in a most unladylike manner.
"Shandryss! I will not have you speak in that tone to our jedi protectors", the empress spoke with a clear voice. From the way the human woman slightly moved her feet, they could see that she was lifted of her feet by a few millimetres. "Now be silent. We shall discuss your punishment for such unfitting behaviour later." The empress turned to the Jedi, ignoring the released woman while she quickly walked back to stand next to the twi'lek.
"Jedi, please accept our apology. Though she raised a valid point, our slave reacted in a most inappropriate fashion. Based on what we have heard, we would have expected the Jedi to think ahead and inform themselves about their charges.
Though we are not amused that you would ignore such simple preparations, we will accept the ship as-is. Before we depart, we do wish to be informed about the planned stops for resupply, and what facilities are available at these locations. Showers will be fine for normal use, but I expect to bathe before we arrive. I am also interested your ideas about nutrition during the journey, as it seems one of you will be cooking?"

I would however understand that such a meal would not meet your Imperial Majesty's standards. We could arrange for a chef to supplement our crew, just like we arranged for a pilot.
As for our stops for resupply, our planned route takes us along the Bozzy Spine, through the Praetorian sector, via sectors 12 -9 , 13 -9 and 14 -10 to our destination in sector 15 -10. Within Union territory we expect no problems and I'm sure the Praetorian Empire could provide us with some supplies before we leave Union territory. "

"We could make a stop on Praeto and visit my clan. My hometown is on the far side of Praeto, far away from our capital and the Mass Transit Cargo Freighters facilities in an area with a low population density. Most of our clan members still live close to lake Seato. Seato is a large lake with warm water surrounded by a dense jungle.
I will not announce our arrival to make sure that our visit stays under the radar. We will have safe passage in our small ship.
I have not been home in some time now. My clan will probably celebrate our arrival with a feast. I hope your majesty has no problem with eating meat?
Furthermore I found a small peaceful world called Artureng on the star maps in sector 14 -10. This world is about 4 days away from our destination. The native population on Artureng is very primitive but should be able to help us with some provisions and a fresh bath."

"Very well. We shall have a look at this vessel of yours. Please discuss any further issues with Shandryss, we assure you that she will not take up such a tone toward you again. We are ready to leave when you deem it time to go. Our servants will load our luggage at your direction."
The empress turned away from the padawan, and walked toward the vessel. As she was about to enter, she turned to her entourage, and said: "Ladies, shall have a look at your beds?" Her entourage, looking distinctly unamused, followed her into the rusty vessel, leaving only the human slave outside.

As the Empress left to inspect the ship, Darones excused himself to have a last minute chat with the Jedi Quartermaster.
"Master, It seems we have run into a small unexpected problem concerning our mission detail with the Veolian Empress. The Empress has raised the valid point of nutrition, and while we currently don't make too much of a fuss about our food, I can understand that the Empress and her ladies would have slightly higher standards in terms of quality.
Would it be possible for a chef to supplement our crew, I know it is short notice, but it would make the Empress' stay much more enjoyable."

For a moment, the look on her face suggested the quartermaster wasn't going to help, but then she let out a sigh.
"I will contact someone and get you a chef. Next time though, please ask these things ahead of time. I arrange stuff - if you need people, you have to ask for them."
A last minute Mon Calamari chef was arranged - not a top chef, but one that could cook a proper meal for a large group of people. The Mon Calamari even brought his own equipment. And with that, the ship appeared ready to leave.

After Darones returned and the chef had brought all his equipment on the ship Ariana entered the ship as well. She walked through the ship and did a quick head count. When she was certain that everybody was on board she walked towards the Empress and said: "Your majesty we will be leaving now. Is everybody ready?"
When the Empress was ready Ariana made a quick bow and said: "I will inform our pilot. Next stop will be Praeto." After which she left.
She walked towards Darones and said: "It seems we are ready pilot. Set a course for Praeto."

Shaedys arrived at the general area, signalling to Ariana that he was indeed ready.
He looked around for a moment as well, making sure everything was there before saying "It sure does take awhile to set everything up for takeoff, but I do believe everything is ready, now with a chef."

While Darones was away, Shandryss did not waste time and ordered some veolian servants to start loading the luggage of the empress. It appeared she was used to ordering such servants about.
After the luggage was loaded, she entered the ship, and quickly rejoined the empress and her entourage.

"Thank you Ariana," Darones said after he took up his seat in the cockpit and ran a preflight diagnostic, "I will need just a minute to complete the preflight checkup and then we'll be on our way. To be honest, I'm a little curious to see what this ship is made off, these upgrades seem promising."
Moments later the preflight was complete and as all systems were in the green, Darones laid in a course for Praeto, and eased the ship to the edge of hangar, requested a flightpath with flight-control and took the ship out into the busy traffic of Unity City. ((Check: 11 = 5 Force Level + 5 Reason + 1 Pilot -- ))He then activated the intercom and addressed all aboard:

Moments later the preflight was complete and as all systems were in the green, Darones laid in a course for Praeto, and eased the ship to the edge of hangar, requested a flightpath with flight-control and took the ship out into the busy traffic of Unity City. The ship took off, heading in the direction of Praeto, stopping to take in supplies before heading off towards Sector 15 -10 using some restored hyperspace lanes to get as close to their destination as possible before crossing the Union border.
A hail was received from the observation outpost.
"This is observation outpost 12 -8 7362. Be aware you are leaving Union controlled space. You're on your own out there." the message warned them. It was unlikely to stop the Jedi.
((OOC: I moved ahead, but if someone forgot something, or you had wanted to RP on Praeto, let me know, I'll rewind.
Regardless, at this point I'd like all the Jedi to post an inventory of any special equipment they have brought with them.))

Leaving Union controlled space was a nervous moment, but it soon passed as she ship went to do a series of consecutive hyperspace jumps towards their target in Sector 15 -10.
Carefully avoiding any known pirate "hang outs", the Jedi and their wards soon found themselves in Sector 15 -9, heading towards the Slave Rebellion border, or what qualified as a border anyway, where they were scheduled to meet a Slave Rebellion escort - an escort already visible on the sensors as a large dot. Probably a big ship.
"This is the Rebellion vessel Sacred Vendetta. This territory is designated restricted for diplomatic purposes. Remove yourself by heading Four, Seventeen, Twelve or you will be shot down."
Apparently the vessel had mistaken the identity of the Jedi ship, thinking it some derelict cargo ship or a rusty pirate vessel which was going to interfere with the rendezvous.

If they are friendly, then they will show us there. Otherwise we will have to go over there anyway. Does anybody a better idea, otherwise I'm going to go ahead with this."
