[ Sector 14 -11 ] Bring a Twi'lek ex-slave home
-

Shebi Ajava - PC
On Jedi master Screetor's advice, padawan Shebi Ajava asks for assistance from another Jedi Padawan.
During the recent infiltration of the Red Troop padawan Shebi Ajava freed a Twi'lek slave-girl and promised to travel with her to her family, in Sector 14 -11.
Sector 14 -11 is in Slave Rebellion territory, and no trouble is expected. However, it can't hurt to have someone to watch your back.
((OOC: Clarification: I am not the storyteller. As such, I am not aware of any reward.))

-

T'Sal - PC
When Shebi comes to T’sal and asks for help, she waits a few seconds before answering. Sector 14,-11 was quite far away and it could become quite interesting to see how things are there.
“Sounds interesting,mmmmmhhh.
I think I could use a little break after all that studying and training and my linguistics skill could come in handy. So I would be glad to accompany you and bring the slave girl home.
Slavery is prohibited in the Hiocan Society as freedom is a right and I would be glad to give it back to the girl.”
((OOC: I would like to join, but I also want to give others the time to reacts. So please say so.))

"I also have some interest in the mission. It has been a while since I had a decent flight. Also I have no idea how well the Twi'lek trust others, but it might help if she thinks I am just a droid. I assume the Twi'lek does speak common galactic?"
-

Shebi Ajava - PC
After hearing about the interest of the two padawan, Shebi Ajava quickly gets them together so they can talk as a group.
"To be honest, I'm not really sure about what we are flying in to. I know that Sector 14 -11 is in Slave Rebellion territory, so we shouldn't get into much trouble.
The Twi'lek girl speaks galactic basic, and should have family in 14 -11. I intended to go alone, as this is not really important, and with all the possible problems along the Union border it is best to have a lot of jedi available for critical missions. However, I have asked master Screetor about this, and he advised me to ask another padawan to accompany me.
So, here we are. From a purely pragmatic point of view, I would prefer Fecta Trigiel as he is a trained pilot, and knows his way around a ship, should we get into trouble and need repairs. However, T'Sal's linguistic knowledge might come in handy."
Looking at T'Sal, the veolian padawan continued: "You are a knowledgable scientist, would it not be better if you remain here? There is still the issue of the exotic matter particles to be looked in to..."

“The physics department of the Jedi is not so big, but our head is an excellent scientist and there are more scientists here that can assist.
Currently, we are waiting for the Jedi council to decide what to do with the exotic matter. We finished our report and the recommendations. Until then broadening my horizon and see how things are at the Slave Rebellion seemed like a good idea.
You can always get a good translator with some pre-translated sentences here at the temple.”

"We can always ask for a protocol droid at the quartermaster. They have all the needed knowledge about the languages and protocols of a wide variety of species and are special designed for this kind of situations. I think it will be wise to bring one just in case. We can always let it inactivated when he appeared unnecessary.
And just like T'sal, I can really use a break from all the meditating. Flying a spaceship poses some change of environment, but is equally calming."

Shebi Ajava - PC
Shebi Ajava looked at T'Sal and Fecta Trigiel incredulously, not knowing whether they were joking or serious.
"You are aware that this isn't a 'little break' or a 'break from meditating'? This is going to take at least 93 days; 47 to, 47 fro and extra for any time spent there.", Ajava seemed a little angry, "So if you're not serious about this, I'll go ask someone else."
She took a deep breath, seemingly calming herself.
"I'm mostly looking for a pilot. Because, as both you said, we could take a protocol droid with us."
Looking at T'Sal, she continued: "I'm sorry T'Sal, maybe we could go on some other mission another time?"

“Time is relative; it depends on where you are and how you perceive it.
I wish you two, good luck.”
With this T’sal left.

Shebi Ajava - PC
"I'll go to the quartermaster to obtain the necessary equipment and a vessel. I'll send you the exact details on when and where we leave later on", Shebi Ajava said to Trigiel before leaving as well.
Shebi Ajava finds Quartermaster Nishra.
"Hello quartermaster. I'm going to sector 14 -11, to find out what happened to the family of a Twi'lek girl I rescued, but hopefully just to bring her home. We are going there with three: Fecta Trigiel, the girl and myself. As we have to pass through a few sectors in between the Union and the Slave Rebellion, I would like a ship that doesn't draw to much attention, but is not going to fall apart halfway there.
I would also like to have a protocol droid around. I'm practising Twi'lek, but even though I'm improving, I'm still a long way from speaking it fluently. Do you have a protocol droid that does just the basics, instead of being a full-blown walking tin man?"

"Ryl is a difficult language. Nearly impossible for non-twi'lek to understand or speak. It is probably best to have the girl translate for you. Regardless I can make a basic translation matrix for you to use with a hand-held device - it will require some skill to operate though"
((OOC: Specifically, the Linguistics skill))
I will requisition you a ship to use. A small four person vessel should do, with supplies and perhaps some upgrades for speed, yes? It'll look rusty - the Rebellion has been known to reposes civilian vessels for use by their fleet - but it will hold together, no problems.
Anything else you need?"

Shebi Ajava - PC
"Nothing is impossible", the veolian padawan replied. "It might take me a few decades to master, but if things keep going the way they are, it will be worth the effort. Besides, a few well-chosen words might make the difference between gaining someone's trust and a fire fight.
I small ship would be preferable yes. And rusty sounds like the perfect theme to pass border patrols without trouble."
Shebi Ajava looked pensive for a moment.
"There are some other things that might be useful, but I'm not entirely sure whether the Jedi Council would provide them... I have loaned the girl some of my clothes, as she was wearing almost nothing in that filthy cantina. But I can easily replace them.
I was thinking more along the lines of some extra supplies for the trip. Though I hope that it won't come to it, we might have to head back again if her family is nowhere to be found. Besides, they might go over well if we need to participate in some barter trade."
((OOC: Luckily, I just picked up a rank of Linguistics.))

"Clothes are not a problem, you've got my permission to use the printer, it can make anything in the catalogue."
Naturally the Jedi Temple provided the Jedi with all the clothes they needed through reimbursing any cost to purchase clothing, but the Jedi Temple also had its own clothing printer. With the printer, you just selected the clothes you wanted from the extensive catalogue, selected materials, patterns and colours and stepped into the scanner. The device would then measure you up, print the fabric and construct it into the desired piece of clothing with a perfect fit.
Of course since it was intended to quickly get disguises and the likes for missions, you needed the quartermasters permission to use the printer, so many Jedi got their clothing elsewhere as it was less of a hassle to turn in the receipts to the temple then to get the quartermaster to say yes.
"As for supplies... take what you can fit in the ship and distribute what you have left over to the people there. I think they can probably use it more than we can."

"Thank you quartermaster. Please send me the hanger and unlock codes for the ship once it is ready. I will get the girl, and go to the printer."
Shebi Ajava went to get the twi'lek girl, and helped her get a few outfits.
Upon receiving the message from the quartermaster, she forwarded it to Fecta Trigiel, with the note that they would leave tomorrow. She, and the twi'lek girl if she wants to help out, spent the rest of the day loading supplies and other necessities into the ship.
After a good night's sleep, Shebi Ajava was ready to leave.
((OOC: @Fecta Trigiel: If you want to prepare or talk before leaving, go ahead.
Otherwise, just go ahead, and pilot us to the adventure ^_^))

Before they leaved, Trigiel did a full check of the ship. From the landing gear to the chairs, he made sure everything was in excellent condition. Although the cyborg had full confidence in the skills of the engineers from the order, this is something he wanted to do. Not only was it good to freshen his skills, he needed to know the ship when they were in space. Trigiel would never forgive himself if something would happen and he couldn't repair it because he didn't knew the ship.
He also made sure that besides his standard gear a decent technical gear and medical gear was on board, just in case. And he took some transmitters with him for when they needed to follow someone or if they went into trouble.
"Greetings," said Fecta Trigiel when he saw the Twi'lek girl for the first time, "I am Trigiel, the pilot during the flight. You must be the one we are going to bring home. And your name is?"

Arnia'Evixel (mask of Mercury) - Storyteller
"My name is Arnia'Evixel... Of the Aevixel clan" she added the latter part as an outside probably wouldn't understand. The girl was wearing a new outfit that was a much better fit and covering than the high heels and collar that had been her uniform in the seedy cantina she had been rescued from.
"I have family in Sector 14 -11..." she explained. "If we can find them, they will help me out."
"I have family in Sector 14 -11..." she explained. "If we can find them, they will help me out."
When it was time to leave, Trigiel greeted the two women aboard the ship: "Arnia'Evixel, Shebi Ajava, welcome aboard, I will do my best for a quick and safe trip."
After Trigiel got clearance to take of, he flew away. Once in space, he grabbed the flight stick for some fancy flying, but remembered he was not alone: "I would like to test the capabilities of this ship. It cannot hurt to know how this ship reacts to evasive manoeuvres and escape runs. But this might be a little rough, especially for our Twi'lek guest. If you just want to move on, please let me know, else: hold on."
If one or both passengers don't like the test flight, Trigiel enters the hyperspace coordinates for the last station at the edge of Union territory. So they can make a last refuel for the ship and where they can stretch their leggs a last time.
If both passengers don't mind Trigiel testing the ship, the cyborg checks if both passengers and all the cargo is buckled up, and starts manoeuvring. First slowly, to test the lagg of the equipment and the manoeuvrability of the ship. Then with more and sharper turns. When none of the passengers stop him, a whole set of combat moves passes by. A barrel roll, U turns, several screwdrivers and many moves which would deserve the term 'Crazy Ivan'. While testing these limitations of the ship, Trigiel was very careful not to cross any lines, and only slowly increases the stunts to prevent any kind of malfunction within the ship. At the end he should have an excellent view on what the ship can and cannot do. "If we run into trouble now, at least I know what this ship is capable of." Said the cyborg with a voice way more happy than should be. At the end, he sets a course for the latest station in Union territory.

Shebi Ajava - PC
Just before Trigiel puts the ship through its paces, Shebi Ajava checked whether the twi'lek girl buckled herself in correctly. Then, she quickly sat down and buckled up.
After Trigiel seems done, she said: "Trigiel, you seem to be very happy with the ship. If it is to your satisfaction, shall we get going?"
After Trigiel seems done, she said: "Trigiel, you seem to be very happy with the ship. If it is to your satisfaction, shall we get going?"
Trigiel plotted the coordinates for the latest Union outpost, and hit the 'go' button.
The moment the ship entered hyperspace, Trigiel just stared out the window: "Beautiful isn't it? I can look at space for days."

Mercury - Storyteller
Racing through the Unions convenient and safe hyperspace lanes, the ship made good progress towards the Slave Rebellion, passing by the Praetorian Empire and using its somewhat less developed hyperspace lane to get as close to Sector 14 -11 before passing the Union border, the ship soon found itself near an observation outpost, its presence marking the Union border.
Beyond here lay three sectors of 'neutral' territory, where neutral meant 'filled with pirates'. The sectors not under control of superpowers were notorious for being 'wild'. Travel through here could be dangerous.
A hail was received from the observation outpost.
"This is observation outpost 12 -8 19624. Be aware you are leaving Union controlled space. You're on your own out there." the message warned them.

When Trigiel made sure the fuel tanks were full, and everybody was ready for a the long trip, they departed the station, into the nothingness of space.
"We know, and we are ready, thanks for your concern," he replied.
From this point on there was no return... Well actually, they could return when they wanted, there were only more pirates and less stations from this point on. Nothing to worry about.

The ship took off into deep space, jumping into hyperspace. Here the three took some time to relax as they waited for their ship to arrive. It'd be many days before they would reach Slave Rebellion territories, but they seemed to be making good progress and surprisingly, pirates for now seemed to ignore their little vessel - perhaps they thought it too small to be of any value, or perhaps they simply weren't in the mood to attack... or maybe the Jedi were just lucky.
But that luck was not to last it seemed. Halfway through Sector 14 -10 and only a few days from the Slave Rebellion border they were travelling towards, the on-board computer system gave an alert.
"Warning! An unidentified vessel is moving to intercept our hyperspace trajectory."
The computer system warned...

Trigiel was staring into hyperspace when the message got his attention he relayed the massage to Shebi Ajava: "An unidentified vessel is approaching on intercept course, I assume they are pirates. My plan is to change direction to a nearby asteroid field and see what they do." After which the cyborg started to locate the nearest asteroid field or other space objects he could use in his advantage, and plot a course.
((OOC: I believe you cannot engage in hyperspace, meaning you need some sort of tech to pull other ships out of hyperspace before you can engage. (Like the interdictor), making the intercepting ship automatically big enough to be scary.))

Shebi Ajava - PC
"No!", Shebi Ajava shouted when she saw Trigiel mucking with the navigation, "Are you crazy? That will almost surely kill us. You don't even know what is around these parts."
"Just let them come along, and when we drop out of hyperspace at the calculated exit vector we'll see what they want. If they open fire we'll just jump a short distance, and if they tractor us in... We'll have a bigger ship. They'll probably think you are a droid anyway, so you will not even be bothered at first. And when they finally realize they just invited two jedi aboard they'll also realize that that would be a great time to start cooperating."
((OOC: The other ship is in hyperspace as well, otherwise we could not have noticed it....))

"Very well then, I will resume our original course and play droid when it comes to that. Therefore I think it is best to let you do the talking over the comm when they want to talk." Trigiel aborted his course to an asteroid field.
((OOC: During the previous post I was unaware of some hyperspace mechanics Brend told me, making my jedi proposing something suicidal. Something he would never do. I think it is best to continue like my jedi has any kind of knowledge about hyperspace travel.))
