"Darn it!" Nebesnogo exclaimed when he saw that only his takeoff was in a patch of dust or sand and his dust screen had failed.
"Time to do it the normal mudry way then." he mumbled to himself.
He quickly accelerated towards Trigiel and made a hard swipe towards his knees hoping to almost literally cut the cyborg off at the knees. But realising he did not quite have the skill to hold Trigiel off him with ataru he was forced to go to shii-cho.
After the lightsaber clash he really poured on the speed and went towards the ceiling in the hopes that it would give him the potential energy he would need to make his following attacks a lot more dangerous. He fluttered around the rafters as fast as he could in the hopes of keeping up his attack speed and increase it when he dived down in his next attack.

Nalan Passik - PC
Having done a little preparation work on the pillars around her it was time to test the strength of her opponent . When the moment arrived Nalan dashed out towards T'sal in between the pillars. Making a swift double strike with her 2 blades. Because T'sal was already preparing for a strike it would not be hard for her to block this first strike of Nalan. To maybe pull on an advantage she jumped up to the higher parts of the pillar next to T'sal ((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Force Jump -- )) and while she leaned sideways in the air with her feat touching the pillar she would do a downward strike. After this high attack she would jump away from T'sal back between the pillars to maintain her defence.
"I think i'll go for a little bit more force" She muttered to herself.
She changed her movement. changing it for Ataru style.

After his failed opening, he decided to execute his first plan. 'Stupid me, I should never had let me be distracted by the mistake of my oponent' he though to himself.
Trigiel parried an attack from Nebesnogo and made a turn to let him pass, at the same time he let his attack continue till his saber hit a pillar next to him. When Nebesnogo attacked again, Trigiel made a salto backwards against another pillar, used the pillar for a step to jump through the room. In his flight the cyborg put his lightsaber in a passing pillar, used the inertia for a sudden turn and in the same time to bring down the pillar. When Nebesnogo came again, Trigiel repeated his action, of jumping away and brining down a pillar for a sudden change of direction. Making it very hard for Nebesnogo Sveta to predict the path of the cyborg, follow it and dodge the falling pillar at the same time. Halfway during on of Trigiel his jumps, Nebesnogo Sveta could see that Trigiel had only a daggar sized blade, his regular sized purple blade was deactivated somewhere during one of the jumps.
Trigiel hoped he would bring down part of the ceiling as well, as he believed he could get some advantage from such events ass well, and it would severely hinder the flying capabilities of the mudry.

T'Sal - PC
When T’sal sees Nalan jumping up and coming down, she pushes of the pillar and jump sideways. She then also jumps up to the higher parts. It seems that Nalan and T’sal again had the same idea of jumping and using the pillars. As T’sal has memorized the location of the pillars and the one Nalan had marked, she can use the good pillars to bounce between them. This way Nalan cannot hide behind a pillar as T’sal can quickly come at her by jumping (zigzagging) between the pillars and come from every direction, with her physical insight she has the advantage.
((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Force Jump -- To jump between pillars))

Shaedys - PC
Shaedys expected another close encounter after the unsuccessful last one. He took one look at the pillars and the dusty ground and decided on his strategy for survival of the next few seconds.
Shaedys took both of lightsabers and, moving his whole body in one large swing, cut a big diagonal piece from a nearby pillar and kicked it as it was falling to the ground to give it plenty of speed. He hoped to create a big cloud of dust in which he could enter and retreat better to dodge blows. He then corrected his stance again moving into the Shii-Cho defensive stance and moving to the front of the dust cloud if there was one so he could retreat back into it once Shebi came close again, waiting for her to come close so he could attack back with strikes of his own.

Nathan and Ariana
((OOC: Nathan: The use of telekinesis against Ariana doesn't fly. The rules specify Telekinesis 1 cannot be used as an attack. Your action is therefore DENIED
Ariana:Jumping down from the ceiling certainly qualifies for a Hawk-Bat Swoop so thats approved. However, I don't really see how jumping at someone or throwing rocks forces Nathan out of cover. The point of cover is to defend against direct attacks and stuff being thrown at you so if anything it'd force him deeper into cover. I therefore have to rule this one as DENIED.
Note: Nathan uses the advantage action bonus from previous round correctly - the effect of removing it doesn't apply until next round. The rules in this regard should be clarified as that isn't immidiately obvious from them.))
Nathan and Ariana kept one another on their toes, neither managing to gain any serious advantage over the other. With Nathans attempted Force Throw failing, and Ariana being unable to get past the defensive position of Nathan, each party appeared to have trouble handling the other.
Nebesnogo and Trigiel
((OOC: Nebesnogo: Taking high ground offensive advantage using flight is APPROVED.
Trigiel: Hopping around wildly seems a fair and you clearly outclass Nebesnogo in this area. Your Direct Combat Action is APPROVED))
Nebesnogo took the advantage and despite Nebesnogo being more manoueverable than the winged mudry, the smaller guy managed to put Trigiel off-balance!
((OOC: Please don't forget to include this in your stats next turn!))
Ajava and Shaedys
((OOC: Ajava: I agree multiple skills can be used on a check, but in this case I do not think stealth aplies. You're not sneaking past. So the use of stealth is denied. Final result then becomes 13. This is high enough for the DCA. APPROVED.
Shaedys: Using a pillar and the temporary (!) dust cloud it creates defensively seems reasonable to me for a Direct Combat Action especially since you specified moving to the pillar area last turn. The check of 10 seems reasonable to me as Ajava herself is not affected by this other than having a harder time attacking. APPROVED.))
In love as in war, victory goes to the agressor and Ajava clearly had an advantage in the agression department that Shaedys' defensive efforts seemed to have a hard time with. Shaedys had a date with destiny if the battle continued in this way! Well, not really, it was only practice, but still. With her attacks, Ajava put Shaedys off-balance.

T'sal and Nalan
((OOC: T'sal: Physical insight is something quite different from physics insight. I'm afraid there is no way I can possibly see a justification for adding Scientist to pillar jumping. Scientists are not known for their ability to hunt things behind pillars. You MIGHT make a reference to the three door problem, but that'd be pushing it. So your check on "knowing the location pillars and efficient pathfinding" I am using 8, not 11 as the score. That said, moving in with Nalan and jumping between the pillars so Nalan cannot hide is a valid tactic! Your action is approved, unfortunately, the 8 and 9 are not high enough to accomplish your goal as Nalan is too tough an opponent in those area's. That means your action is FAILED
Nalan: The move you are making would qualify as a Direct Combat Action (though you might not have made the difficulty). Jumping up to a pillar is a cool move, but I don't think it confers high ground as an advantage action. You also already retreated into the pillars for a Defensive Advantage Action so your alternative option is invalid. I'm afraid that means your actions are DENIED. Note - normally I'm not a fan of conditional actions (if this isn't allowed I do that) but I'm giving some leeway on that since the game rules are new. Also, your use of defence in new style, attack in old style is correct!))
Both parties struggled, but Nalan seemed to have more trouble than T'sal, who hopped past Nalans improved defences even as she failed to deny him the advantage entirely. In fact, her pillar hopping and attacks from various directions managed to put Nalan off balance!

Shebi Ajava - PC
Though she started her intimacy based strategy due to a rational decision, Ajava observed that it was having an effect on her as well. The more she aggressively attacked Shaedys, the more she actually wanted to end this fight with her on top of him. Ajava realized that eventually this would prove to be more of distraction to herself, hindering her fight against him.
A feeling of playfulness overcomes Ajava, as she seems able to shrug of the weak attacks of Shaedys without much effort. With her previous tactic successful and Shaedys off-balance, Ajava determines that his cover is the largest obstacle to overcome. Determined to end this fight quickly, the sequence of events unfolds in her mind: first she will remove his cover, then she will jump him.
Her plan formed, Ajava pounces again without a moment's hesitation. During the exchange of blows, she manoeuvres herself into the same pillared area as Shaedys, effectively removing his cover. Remembering his tendency to recoil from her embrace, she hovers just outside his personal zone.
((Check: 13 = 6 Force Level + 4 Fitness + 2 Athletics + 1 Force Speed -- moving into the pillars, close enough toward Shaedys to negate his cover advantage, and stick with him when he moves away.))

And while he needed to keep up his defence, Nebsesnogo Sveta had all the freedom to strengthen his attacks. Then Trigiel had a last idea, 'why not reset the battle?' He had a plan, but he had his lightsaber in his wrong hand.
Trigiel quickly looked around to check the path he took, and the pillars he brought down, then when Nebesnogo Sveta attacked, Trigiel threw his lightsaber into a pillar next to him. 'This weapon is your life!' echoed the voice of his master in his head. 'Yes, but I have two.' His other lightsaber shoved slightly out of his pocket deflecting the attack of his opponent. He jumped to his thrown lightsaber, and at the same time he took his grappling cable out his left leg pocket. In one move the cyborg grabbed his lightsaber and pinched the cable into the pillar where his saber made a cut. He had now his short lightsaber in his right hand, while the other saber was back in its pocket, he had the grappling hook in his left hand. Then Trigiel quickly jumped to the next pillar, and the next and the next, wrapping the cable around the pillars he had cut in his previous move and making every cut a little more severe, until he had made a full circle. He kept the cable as low as possible, so the mudry could not cut it without loosing his high ground. Nebesnogo should be clever enough to know that Trigiel would jump right on top of him the second he lowered himself.
Then the cyborg waited for the right moment, and then he pulled with all his force at the cable, using the force on the pillars to let them collapse as well. Trigiel had no idea what it would actually do, but the entire roof would probably fall down when the bearings were removed at the same time. If this would happen, there would be a lot of dust and chaos, giving Trigiel time to recover from Nebesnogo Sveta his attacks, effectively resetting the fight.

Nebesnogo looked at what Trigiel was doing and realised that the other jedi was going to break the house down literally! Also going trough his head was. 'I hope he does not trap himself in the rubble.'
Nebesnogo decided that he had bin in the ways of the Sarlacc for long enough and decided that it was time to switch to his favoured way of the Hawk-Bat.
To prevent himself from being hurt he quickly searched out a column where he could get a decent piece of stone from to serve as a shield with out dropping the ceiling directly on his head.
He then reached out with this telekinesis and tore out a piece of the column he had chosen. Using this as a shield he once again attacked Trigiel while making sure to keep his improvised shield between himself and the attacks made by the cyborg.

Nalan Passik - PC
"GAH!" Nalan grunts after her failed attempt on T'sal from the air. T'sal blocks the attack and her failed jump made Nalan off balance. For now it was best to reassure her footing on the ground before attempting any new things. Nalan made sure to keep her distance to T'sal since her defence where weaker now that she was off balanced. Nalan Lashes out towards a pillar where she had allready made some cuts in to make it easier to cut through. She would slash it so that it would automaticly fall towards T'sal but she would kick the pillar to make sure it would and to add more force.
After the pillar would hit the ground there would undoubtfully be a lot of dust coming from the shatter pillar and the ground. Nalan would use this large dust cloud to hide herself from T'sal's sight. ((Check: 11 = 5 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 3 Stealth -- )) So she could prepare herself to strike unexpectedly at T'sal. To make sure T'sal did not get out of sight Nalan would focus on her intensely to not gain a disadvantage herself ((Check: 11 = 5 Force Level + 5 Vision + 1 Tracking and Navigation -- )). To make sure Nalan can regain her footing she would have to switch back to Shii-cho.

T'Sal - PC
T’sal is disappointed that her plan had not worked. Now they were still both stuck in a stalemate where neither of them could penetrate through their defenses. It is time to bring some chance although it would be risky for her as she has to come out of her defense.
T’sal makes some final jump by attacks on Nalan. She then jumps towards Nalan and closes in. On that moment Nalan crushed the pillars and hides in the dust, but T’sal dodges the rumble easily with some help of the force. Due to the dust Nalan could not have seen that T’sal has changed style to the suus mahna martial arts. T'sal moves forward to Nalan and is determined to stick close to her and dug it out.

Shaedys - PC
The attacks of Ajava found Shaedys searching for sure footing, a bit shaken from the blows he instinctively realised that fleeing would not cut it. Running and hiding would just end in defeat, and more time would not be beneficial to his cause. The only chance then was to try and attack with all of his remaining strength, try and catch Ajava off guard and defeat her quickly, or be defeated himself.
Initiative had to be seized, so Shaedys charged forward to Ajava, probably abandoning any cover he had as the clash would happen outside of the pillars. But cover was no longer necessary, only a burden that could restrict movement. Shaedys focused himself, channeling the force to give himself extra speed. He would need all of the speed he could get so that he could charge Ajava with unexpected ferocity. He would try to get as close as he could and unleash a flurry of blows on Ajava with both hsi lightsabers, trying to catch Ajava unprepared against this bold move.

Nathan and Ariana
((OOC: Nathan: Taking an advantage action to flank seems reasonable to me - the terrain certainly allows for flanking. Normally this would require an athletics check with Strength or Fitness. I haven't been consistent in enforcing this, but regardless either would easily be high enough for you, so I am going to allow the move. APPROVED
Ariana: Moving into the cover of the pillars is certainly a legal move even if some of them have fallen down. So no concerns there. Though I recently denied Ajava the use of Stealth for her Direct Combat Action attack, using stealth to hide between pillars seems reasonable to me. I will therefor add Stealth to your move for a total check of 9 instead of 8.
However, even with this bonus, a score of 9 is still on the low side. I considdered that Nathan is also hiding between the pillars which might up your check to 10 for circumstance. But even so, with the cyborgs high manoeuverability, higher attributes and matching Force Speed, I came to a DC of 11 or 12. I found myself searching for an excuse to pass you, since I believe the action itself is reasonable - but the fact of the matter is, I cannot justify it. So unfortunately that means I have to put you action down as FAILED.
I feel rather bad failing one player while approving the other... So I want to put down a note: Ariana is a high utility but lower physical prowess. This places her at a distinct disadvantage here, but perhaps she can use her mental attributes in some way? Her ability to fly, though limited by the terrain, may also provide her with an advantage she can use.))
With neither party managing to put the other off balance, the combat moved to the other side of the arena, where the pillars were largely untouched. Despite Ariana's attempts to stay away from Nathan, the latter proved to be too fast for her to escape so easily - she'd be up against some tough attacks from him next round...
Nebesnogo and Trigiel
((OOC: Trigiel: you've been damaging pillars since a while back so I think your move is a reasonable one - I would not have approved it if it had been just this turn but you clearly stated damaging pillars in preparation of this in previous turns. I am in doubt as to whether or not Mechanical Engineer applies - it appears to be aimed at ships, pods, and droids, so I am going to deny that particular bonus. Even without its bonus, you still make the difficulty I had in mind for the DCA you're taking so your action is APPROVED.
Regarding the weirdo action, see below.
Nebesnogo: tearing a piece of rock out of a pillar to use as a shield seems somewhat questionable. Mechanical Engineer does not apply regardless, but I think it should not be too hard to find a column. However, given that Trigiel has done a marvelous job already pre-cutting the pillars, and you have Telekinesis 2, I'm going to allow it. The score of 10 is reasonable for the defensive direct combat action, so your move is APPROVED.))
Bringing the house down was no half measure: rocks fell from the sky and dust settled everywhere and this time there was real dust too, not just a little. With such a thick cloud - not to mention a hailstorm of stones falling from the ceiling - both of the jedi had trouble orienting themselves for a moment. Even so, Nebesnogo managed to force Tigiel to stay off balance using some well placed saber slices.
((OOC: Special condition: due to falling rocks and significantly changed terrain (a lot of pillars are destroyed), next round both warriors have to re-orient themselves. Both of you suffer a -2 on attack as if this was the first round of combat.
Besides that, Trigiel is again off balance. Please don't forget the penalties this causes next round.))
Ajava and Shaedys
((OOC: Ajava: The move into Shaedys' cover to negate it seems reasonable to me. The Check is also of the proper level. APPROVED.
Shaedys: The countercharge seems a reasonable DCA. I am approving your use of an offensive DCA at the incorrect moment for the reason you mentioned: it has no impact on the outcome of the fight. Your check is high enough for this as well, so APPROVED.))
Shaedys charged into Ajava to counter her manoeuvre, but really it was too little and too late. The experienced jedi spun around into his arms, the blade of her saber pressed into Shaedys' belly. In a real fight this would have been a mortal wound. Thanks to the training saber, it was merely victory.
((OOC: Shebi Ajava wins!))
T'sal and Nalan
((OOC: Clarification: Nalan incorrectly posted scores last week. By the time it was picked up, the results were already in. I'm afraid its too late to go back and fix it, but I want to note that it is especially generous of T'sal to offer this. Cuddo's there! I'm proceeding based on the presumption of Nalan being off balance.
Nalan: It would help me if you make your action more clear - currently its a bit wishy washy between an offensive and a defensive advantage action and you basically leave the choice to me. Please try to make a clear choice of what you want and list why your actions justify that so I can approve or deny it. Conditional choices and such aren't allowed.
As an offensive action, I think using the crushing pillars, dust and terrain to cloak your approach is a fair offensive advantage action. Your stealth skill certainly matches up and you make the difficulty easily. This is APPROVED.
A final note: as a defensive action, your action would have been denied - this is because you already have a pillar cover based defensive advantage action. No worries on that though, since thats not whats going on.
T'sal: While I see the reasoning that closing in would eliminate hiding bonusses, we changed the way advantage actions work: advantage actions continue to function even if the terrain changes, due to the advantage gained in previous rounds. Thus, I'm afraid that your action does not allow you to trade out the defensive advantage actions like that.
I am inclined to say your moving in close and tossing rubble aside is not enough to gain an offensive advantage action either, at least not in the way it is described, however it does sound like a fair way to eliminate Nalans advantage from cover.
I will therefore interpret your action as removing Nalans defensive cover advantage action. For that, you meet the required difficulty, so that is APPROVED.))
Nalan focussed on her defences after the onslaught brought on by T'sal. With some skill, she managed to straighten out and rebalance not just herself but the odds of the battle as well!
((OOC: Nalan is no longer off balance, but her defensive advantage action regarding terrain has been eliminated. You can add it again in a later turn of course but that'll require another action.))

Nathan and Ariana
((OOC: Dragonmaster352 posted an OOC comment that Ariana got her stats wrong. Checking the stats, this is indeed the case, so for Ariana I am using 9/11/8 as her attack.
Ariana: it was established earlier in the combat that there was little room for aerial manoeuvres as the ceiling isn't high enough. In fact, I specifically warned about this when she used her wings to get high ground (which I allowed btw):
However, Ariana also moves to the central area where there aren't any pillars. Those pillars were a key feature to allow Nathan to flank Ariana. Ariana does not have as much manoeuvrability as Nathan, but she clearly has him outclassed in the way of being able to fly, which Nathan simply can't do. Between Fitness, Force Level and Force Speed, Ariana can make the difficulty, and the action is therefore APPROVED. Being more descriptive can help you in cases like these btw.
Nathan: You are faster than Ariana, so you can get to her in time. However I'm not giving you a bonus because of this, as given the lack of height she can gain, it really doesn't matter - the ceiling isn't high enough for her to fly truly out of reach, especially with Jedi Jumping heights.
Grappling is a valid combat manoeuvre and I can see that working as an offensive direct combat action. You posted it within the deadline so whether its second or first has no impact. That's the whole point of the deadline, so that Ariana has a chance to adjust her action. She did and she chose not to (which is perfectly valid btw).
Strength seems like the correct ability here as you are altering something about the world, and given Ariana's weaker physical strength and ability, the 11 is more than enough to succeed. Your move is therefore APPROVED.))
Struggling in the centre of the room now, Ariana forced Nathan to give up the advantage he had gained flanking her, but his rough grappling of the woman put her off balance!
((OOC: Ariana is off balance. Please don't forget the penalties this causes next round.))
Nebesnogo and Trigiel
((OOC: Trigiel: Throwing sand and rubble at someone seems like a valid direct combat action to me. You wouldn't have made an offensive difficulty, but defensively, I think your check succeeds by the skin of the teeth. Your action is APPROVED.
Nebesnogo: Telekinesis, you're doing it right! You're using Telekinesis to assist in an attack. This is exactly what is defined as possible by Telekinesis 2, so this part of your bonus is approved. Hawk bat swoop is also legal given you've got high ground. Excellent use of combined modifiers to get a high check result.
Using a distraction in an attack is indeed valid and the conditions do allow for what you are trying to do. Trigiel is more manoeuvrable than you so normally you would not have made the difficulty, but correctly using both Telekinesis to your advantage and the Hawk Bat swoop together makes all the difference, and makes this move a success! Excellent usage of terrain, rules and circumstance to defeat an enemy who is more manoeuvrable than you are! APPROVED))
Struggling, Trigiel barely kept himself afoot, and Nebesnogo pressed the attack hard to keep the Fecta off balance. Despite this, the cyborg kept the fight going, holding out longer than anyone could have imagined!
((OOC: Trigiel is off balance. Please don't forget the penalties this causes next round.))
T'sal and Nalan
((OOC: T'sal: Making melee attacks as a direct combat action is valid and your description is pretty clear. As your check, I am using Force Level + Strength + 1 for knowing Suus Mahna for a total of 9. That's not a very high check, but lucky for you Nalan is not very good at martial arts either, judging from her stealth focus, so its APPROVED.
Nalan: You're in after the deadline, but before I posted, so that's no problem ^_^
I'm not sure what you're trying to do to get your offensive advantage action. Best I can read in it is striking back at T'sal. Since there's combat between you two, I presume you are striking back at her each turn, so that doesn't tell me what I need to know.
You don't have to write a long description of your move, but I do need a little bit more than simply the fact that you're fighting her to approve an advantage action. Unfortunately your move is DENIED.))
T'sal's training in Suus Mahna was key as it allowed her to overpower the otherwise evenly matched opponent with a repeated series of martial moves, kicks and punches, knocking the Twi'lek woman off balance as she seemed unable to come up with her next move!
((OOC: Nalan is once more off balance. Please don't forget the penalties this causes next round.))
Mercury wrote:"Ariana would need to be careful though, as aerial manoeuvres beyond what she was doing would be tricky in the enclosed space" - Post

It was clear to Nathan that his opponent hadn't expected him to pull her down, however, now he was back in the centre of the arena, it would be unlikely he would be able to press his advantage. He would need to force Ariana back to the pillars.
He started attacking relentlessly. Forcing Ariana to back up to the pillars. Herding her in the direction he wanted by advancing and using heavy slashes to block her way.
When he had driven her to the pillars, Nathan forced his opponent to back into a pillar. He made a heavy diagonal slash, as he had expected Ariana dodged.
But the slash was never meant for Ariana. He sliced through the pillar. ((Check: 11 = 4 Force Level + 5 Strength + 2 Athletics -- slicing through the pillar))
As the pillar started to come down Nathan quickly rammed his shoulder against it to have it fall in Ariana's direction. ((Check: 11 = 4 Force Level + 5 Strength + 2 Athletics -- changing the falling pillars direction.))

T'Sal - PC
T’sal has moved the fight along the rows of pillars during her assault, slowly there are getting closer to the wall. With a nice combination of kicks and saber attacks she puts Nalan off balance. T’sal has kept track of her position and now is her turn take advance of it. She keeps attacking Nalan from all directions and pushes forward. T’sal tries to drive Nalan backwards to limit her movements as her back is now against the wall (or pillar).
