[ Jedi Temple ] Lightsaber Championships
If T'sal had picked up a little of Trigiel's way of displaying emotions during their missions, she could see that he displayed a cyborg equivalent of a grin from ear to ear. Hiding his emotions during combat was not his strongest point.
Without sabers, they couldn't attack for the moment, so now was the time to regain his balance and turn the field in his favour. From his left arm pocket Trigiel reactivated his short yellow saber. Now he had a light saber and T'sal not. There was quite some water escaped out of the basin, Trigiel put the blade of his saber in the water to cover this part of the arena in steam. His body was a lot better resistant to the steam and his vision should be better in the steam than the one of T'sal, granting him a good advantage.
He took an aggressive stance again as he believed to have the advantage again.

T'Sal - PC
Getting completely wet was not T’sal intension and now they were standing there with dysfunctional ligthsabers. It would probably take some time for the water to get out of her ligtsaber system so she has to switch to hand-to-hand combat.
As T’sal could not attack she could not prevent Trigiel from regaining his balance. Trigiel is chancing his stance and is getting quite offensive. The hot steam that Trigiel creates does not affect T’sal as she is used hot temperatures. Hio is extremely hot and Hiocans have an internal cooling system so she can withstand it easily. Trying to obscuring her vision is a better plan, but in close combat you also use your other senses like hearing and touch to determine where your opponent is. Being an experienced martial artist she could not easily be deceived.
With the steam Trigiel also limits his own vision so this is T’sal chance to get some distance. As Trigiel has a second light saber and she did not T’sal goes to the lower outer ring and tries to get some cover. She wants to limit Trigiel space and maneuverability. T’sal chances to the suus mahna stance. Her light saber is sizzling so it might turn back on if a few seconds and hopefully she could hold on until then.
((OOC: Here is it, let the battle continue.))

Trigiel and T'sal
Steam filled the area near the pool, and both Jedi quickly made use of it, Trigiel to get the edge and T'sal to withdraw to safety. However the situation had turned around quite significantly now that Trigiel drew his backup weapon and T'sal was in serious trouble now that the Jedi had regained his balance!
((OOC: Trigiel: Steam won't fill the entire room, only a part of it. I am not going to give you a bonus for being a cyborg beyond what the ability grants you already, but lucky for you T'sals vision is low, so your action is APPROVED
As T'sal does not attack you (for obvious reasons) you are no longer off balance.
T'sal: You list using a Defensive Combat Action. There's no such thing. You can take a Direct Combat Action or a Defensive Advantage Action. I'm presuming you intended the latter.
That said, taking cover is a viable tactic for either. I think given the visuals of steam and the advantage Trigiel claims from it, you can reasonably be presumed to be able to use the same steam to hide. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Thus your action is legal.
However, Trigiel is a lot better visionwise than your stealth is able to compensate for. Im not giving him a bonus for cyborg eyes, but his vision is very high and I'm afraid your score is not enough to outmatch him in this situation. Your action is therefore FAILED
Your lightsabers are deactivated for another round, meaning for the next round Trigiel is the only party with a saber!
I'm not listing a deadline, but if you both post swiftly, I'll respond swiftly as well.))

Now that Trigiel had the advantage of a ligthsaber, it was time to finish it. From his cover of steam he attack T'sal. Though he knew that she could probably dodge his saber, it was time to abuse the fact she had none. While T'sal did her thing to not get hit by the light saber, Trigiel did a direct punch with the hilt of his saber. Tonfa handles were very useful for quick and unexpected punches.
He switched from attacking with his saber and punching with his hilt till he noticed the opening he was searching for. He did a feint punch, stepped passed T'sal blocked her attempts to attack with his durasteel right arm and at the same time he used the cover T'sal used as step to jump over her. He grabbed her shoulder and used his much higher mass to keep her in check, though he was clever enough not to lean on the shoulder. Trgiel landed at the other side of her again accompanied with a wide diagonal finishing attach with his saber.

T’sal takes cover in the lower area but Trigiel follows her quickly. He attacks her with his light saber and his tofu handles. As T’sal is experienced in close combat she takes a peek-a-boo defensive style and blocks and dodges his attacks by swaying. T’sal uses the Force to guide her to detect his attack pattern. She focuses full on him and tries to hold him back.
In combat there is always the balance between offensive versus defensives capabilities. T’sal could not withstand an Ataru attack without her lightsaber, but she might stand to beat his defense. If she wants to do that she has to take back the initiative. She takes a good look around. She moves back and takes cover behind a machine. She follows her intuition and lets Trigiel attack her. Trigiel uses the cover she has taken and jumps over her. T’sal could not prevent Trigiel from hitting her, but making a wide attack left Trigiels defenses wide open. The force guides T’sal and she turns around. While pushing of against the machine she makes a roundhouse kick.
((OOC: Edit: Oeps wrong stats. Okay, I will be losing then instead.))

Trigiel and T'sal
T'sal made a brave effort to keep away from Trigiel, but without her lightsaber, the disadvantage she was placed at was simply too much.
Or was it? A solid roundhouse kick hit the cyborg Jedi in the chest, hitting Trigiel hard in mid air and causing him to tumble backwards and land with his back into the wall, a moment knocking the air out of him... figurtively speaking anyway, as it was unclear in how far Trigiel actually had air to knock out of him. As he recovered himself, off-balance from the blow, T'sal moved in to continue the fight but a bell rang.
In mid air, Trigiel had connected his saber with T'sals neck, the winning blow for him, which had hit her even before the roundhouse kick sent him flying.
Master Screetor stepped into the arena to announce the winner: Fecta Trigiel!
((OOC: Trigiel: A slashing jump attack and taking advantage of having a lightsaber which the enemy does not seems reasonable enough for me as a Direct Combat Action. Your check in this is sufficient against the not so physically gifted T'sal. All your stats and bonusses are good so your action is APPROVED
You are now off-balance. Not that it matters much...
T'sal: I'm not entirely convinced of using both intuition and jump on this move. At the very least I think intuition makes sense in this case as T'sal is using her martial arts skills to avoid an enemies attack where she'd normally be blocking. I can totally see that. Normally force jump would not apply, but in this case I will approve it as T'sal uses her knowledge of Force Jump to use an opening. Your action is APPROVED.
Unfortunately, despite T'sals best efforts her attack without a saber simply isn't enough to take out Trigiel. That means Trigiel is the winner!
Coming up after the commercial break: award ceremony and associated awards!))

Master Screetor gathered the different padawans and stepped up on a small podium to announce the winner.
"Padawans!" the Jedi Master opened "You have all fought with skill and I am proud to see such magnificent ability and creativity in battle.
One of you managed to win all their fights and as such will be the official Padawan Lightsaber Champion: Shebi Ajava. Please all join me in congratulating her for her grand victory!"
The Jedi Master began to applaud.
((OOC: This is the end of the championship! The winner is Shebi Ajava, but all eight participants have earned access to a new Combat Style! Congratulations and thank you all for the help in resolving the final bugs in the combat rules!))

Shebi Ajava did appeared to care little about the fact that she won. She did however, bow to her opponent.
"Thank you, for being my opponents during this championship. I hope you have learned as much as I have."
"Thank you, for being my opponents during this championship. I hope you have learned as much as I have."
After Screetor had announced Trigiel as the winner of the round, the cyborg walked to T'sal and bowed: "That was a good fight, thank you for the competition. I have learned a lot and hope you have as well."
-

T'Sal - PC
T'sal bowed back to Trigiel. "Thank you to. You are a tough opponent. I shall need to work on my physique and not go swimming."
After Shebi Ajava's miniature speech, Jedi Master Screetor presented her with a trophy, the prize for her victory!

The trophy consisted of a glass trophy case and stand with a laser cut plaque and a lightsaber, plated with gold and silver - the thing actually worked, though it was a simple weapon - regular blue blade with regular handle.
((OOC: You can put it in your room at the temple and list it on your wiki page ^_^ It may feature as backdrop in future roleplay too!))
