[Nalan Passik]

Entering the large arena Nalan was taken away by its design. But now it was time to focus as she could see Shaedys standing on the other end of the Arena. The two training sabres she was carrying with her still felt a little strange but it would have to do.

Nalan walked up to Shaedys and made a bow like customary to Jedi duelling and then took a step back again.
"Good luck Shaedys, may the force be with you". Nalan spoke with a smile.

Nalan took her pose using the Shii-Cho style.

[Shaedys]

Also entered the large arena, stopping for a moment to take in the view. Shaedys then took both of his training lightsaber handles in his hand, getting a last feel for their weight before he would actually be using them. He then put them back on his waist as he saw Nalan Passik walking up to him.

He bowed, listened to her talk and replied "Good luck to you as well, I hope we both learn something today."

Shaedys took an offensive stance using his Ataru style, aiming to test her defences once combat started.

[Shebi Ajava]

Before stepping into the arena, the veolian padawan tested the weight and feel of the training lightsaber she had been given. Though she does not particularly care about the specific weapon she used, she liked to get a feeling for the weapon before using it.

When she felt ready Shebi Ajava stepped into the arena, taking note of the placement of platforms and statues.

Seeing T'Sal step into the arena as well, she greeted her with the traditional bow. "Good luck, T'Sal.", she said before taking a a few steps back

Shebi Ajava did not activate her lightsaber yet, and took up a passive stance. Those practised in Shii-Cho recognized her stance as a derivation of one of the 'ready for anything' stances that form the foundations of the style.

[T'Sal]

Having done a warming-up T’sal is ready to go. Her first match is against Shebi Avaja and this would be quite a difficult as miss Shebi has military experience.

T’sal walks towards the center of the area. She looks carefully to the lay-out and memorized the various objects and their location (height, width etc.).

T’sal make a bow “Good luck to you too, miss Shebi.”

She mimics miss Shebi’s movements and also takes a defensive Shii-co stance.

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana jumped into the arena and landed with her wings spread. After a few seconds she bowed to Nebesnogo.
"We meet again, this time we will face each other. Good luck."

Ariana takes a small step back and prepares for an offense using the Ataru style.

[Nebesnogo Sveta]

Nebesnogo entered the arena he was without any gismo's just his light saber clipped at his belt.

"Yes, lets see who is the better today." he agreed with a smile and a bow.

He spread his wing out behind him ready to take off. He pulled his lightsaber towards his hand with a bit of telekinesis and also takes an Ataru stance.

In this round, you may attack, but all attacks (but not defences!) suffer a -2 penalty on all stats.

Your attack uses the style you declared in the previous round (see below). This also allows you to predict the total attack made by your opponent - it will be on or around their force level plus their chosen attack style plus their lightsaber bonuses - thus, you can choose your defensive style this round with that in mind.

However, there are some things that may influence this: each of you gets to take a Combat Action besides the attack. A combat action can boost one ring of attack by up to two points or two rings of attack by one point. Alternatively, terrain actions can give you an advantage later on, but you won't benefit from it until next round.

Finally, you can earn a roleplay bonus. Roleplay bonuses are announced at the end of the round. For simplicity, I did not apply any in round 0.

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana quickly draws and activates both her lightsabers using telekinesis. She jumps towards Nebesnogo and quickly strikes three times. While dueling she switches to a more defensive stance and backflips, landing behind one of the stone tables and uses it as cover.

[Fecta Trigiel]

Trigiel did a rapid double attack from the left. He then immediately stepped in with his rear foot to protect himself from the attack from the other cyborg. Basic combat training with a lightsaber learns: your sword is your shield. Keep it between you and the enemy and they won't pass.

[Nebesnogo Sveta]

Nebesnogo takes of from his starting position his wings beat furiously giving him the speed and lift he needs. His lightsaber screams trough the air and several loud hissing cracks are heard trough the dueling arena as the small blue blade meet the yellow and red ones of Ariana.

After the initial clash of blades Nebesnogo makes a quick U-turn and chases after the larger padawan knowing he has to keep up the pressure or he will never win.

He focuses on his connection to the force and in an attempt to increase his speed even more. ((Check: 8 = 4 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Force Speed -- ))
Using this speed boost he attempts to box Ariana in against some of the terrain features to limit her escape options and give the larger jedi less place to maneuver and defend herself.

[Nathan Miodrass Asillion]

Nathan brought his saber between him and Trigiel, defending himself. Taking a large step back, he used the full lenght of his handle and saber to keep the other cyborg at bay.

He then proceeded with a large cutting slash, aimed at his opponents legs. Nathan then switched to a more defencive approuch.

[T'Sal]

T’sal takes the initiative and jumps forward to force miss Shebi to move backwards in defense.

She does not want to let miss Shebi to take the lead as she has more combat experience. T'sal starts with an standard attack pattern as to get miss Shebi stuck by pattern. After the second blow she changes the flow by stepping towards the other side and ending up close next to miss Shebi. T’sal uses this to make a strike towards the diaphragm to get some air out of her opponent.

T’sal uses this attack to test miss Shebi capabilities as to get a better idea what strategy to use best or not to use.

[Shebi Ajava]

Shebi Ajava did not expect T'Sal's sudden burst of aggressiveness, knowing her mostly as an inquisitive and peaceful person. Before she had time to react T'Sal was on her, swinging her first strike.

Just in time, her training kicked in. She stepped aside, deftly blocking the first hit in a show of sparks accompanied by the familiar hiss-like sound of blades in contact. Still taken aback by her aggressive opponent, she deflected the second swing while taking a quick step backwards. Ajava realized T'Sal was breaking her attack pattern. Knowing her next move would sacrifice any chance of dodging, Shebi stepped in, hoping her feint would catch T'Sal unawares as the hiocan overextended to aggressively take the initiative.

While stepping in, Ajava hopes to confuse T'Sal even more by attacking the hilt of her green saber. Using the combined speed of herself, accelerated by the force, and T'Sal's jump she stabbed toward her opponent's saber. ((Check: 11 = 6 Force Level + 4 Fitness + 1 Force Speed -- ))

"Here goes good luck" Shaedys thought to himself as he noticed Nalan not yet taking the initiative. He ran forward, his hands on his sides with training lightsabers activated.

When he got close to Nalan he used slashed forward, making a cross with both of his lightsabers, trying to test the strength of Nalan Passik to better judge his next move.

If the clash would be met he would back off, quickly moving backwards and then using his own speed combined with a force jump to elevate himself onto one of the higher platforms, gaining a height advantage and preparing for another attack. ((OOC: Given the amount of combatants, I found it highly impractical to check everyone's claimed attack and defence ratings, so I am going to presume everyone calculated them correctly. When in doubt, feel free to check your opponent and if you sense any irregularities, please use the convenient thread created by Brend to bring them up so they can explain how they got their numbers :)

Ariana vs Nebesnogo

Ariana has taken a terrain action for cover, giving her a +1 bonus on the Outer Ring of Defence from now on. Nebesnogo has taken a terrain action to outmanoeuvre, giving him a +2 bonus on the Outer Ring of Attack from now on. Neither Ariana nor Nebesnogo managed to gain any further advantage beyond this.

Note: I am giving a bigger bonus to Nebesnogo as his advantage of flight trumps Ariana taking cover behind a table for obvious reasons. Also, Nebesnogo posted it better, so consider it an implied roleplay bonus.

Shebi vs T'sal

T'Sal: 4/7/7 vs Shebi: 10/11/9

T'Sal takes a Direct Combat Action to gain +2 on the Inner Ring this round! Shebi Ajava also takes a Direct Combat Action to gain +2 on the Inner Ring this round!

Shebi went in with a special manoeuvre, but she was unable to gain enough offensive power to bypass T'Sal's defences completely. T'sal by contrast didn't even come near Shebi's defences, so it looked like the blue woman held the advantage so far.

Nalan vs Shaedys

I gave it the entire weekend in addition, but no post from Nalan, so what I post here is what she'll have to do with, unfortunately. She is using Shii-Cho again this round, her stats are the best I could calculate, so it'll have to do for her. If we get no post from her in the next week either, I'm counting it as a forfeit.

Shaedys: 7/7/3 vs Nalan: 8/9/7

Shaedys' moved up in the world as a Terrain action to gain a +2 bonus on his Inner Ring attack next round! Nalan seemed to not be focussing, letting her actions slide though the Shii-Cho did give her enough defence to withstand Shaedys' attack.

Fecta vs Nathan

Trigiel: 6/6/5 vs Nathan: 9/8/8
Nathan: 6/4/3 vs Trigiel: 5/7/5

Neither Nathan nor Trigiel took any actions this round - please be sure to read up on actions: they can be helpful! Nathan did seem to hold the advantage though, passing over some of Trigiel's defences, but not enough to wound him.

Nathan closed back in on Trigiel, exchanging blows allong the way. He had a plan.

He moved in closer, forcing his opponent backwards. Then he started attacking with large powerfull blows, forcing the other cyborg back further. Faigning a high blow, Nathan took a large step. Ducking to his right, he got in low and close. Holding his saber in his right hand along his body, he used his left to punch Trigiel in the stomach.

Using the time he got from this, Nathan stabbed upward aiming for his opponents chest. He turned his body allong with his arm. Attacking and getting back up in a single flowing action.

[Nebesnogo Sveta]

Seeing that he managed to gain an advantages position over Ariana Nebesnogo smiled shortly seeing that his plan was working.

Just before he went to reengage with Ariana Nebesnogo lashed out with a powerful burst of telekinesis. The tendrils of telekinetic energy grabbed a hold of the top of one of the statues lining the arena. The force did its thing and the statue farthest to his left went toppling towards Ariana. ((Check: 10 = 4 Force Level + 4 Energy + 2 Telekinesis -- ))

He then used the toppling statue as a improvised flanking partner and a method to get Ariana out of her comfortable defense or be flattened by a falling statue. He then zoomed in towards Ariana his short blue saber humming as it was brought up to an attack position. Then the loud pop and crackle of light sabers meeting once again filled the arena as blue clashed with red and yellow.

Ariana immediately notices that she will be boxed in when she sees the statue behind her tremble. There is no time for aggressive slashing at Nebesnogo. She quickly tumbles onto the stone table avoiding the falling tower and giving her some space away from Nebesnogo and the rubble. ((Check: 8 = 4 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Force Speed -- ))

Knowing her telekinesis is not as strong as that of Nebesnogo she does not try to bring down a tower but merely snatches a large sword from one of the statues with her Telekinesis. She quickly accelerates the light weight sword and smashes it with the pointy tip into the ground, right in between her and Nebesnogo, near her old position. ((Check: 10 = 4 Force Level + 5 Energy + 1 Telekinesis -- ))

While on the stone table she takes up a defensive position and reassembles her strength to lash out the next round, making sure she can hit Nebesnogo first when he tries to jump on the same table.

[Nalan Passik]

A sudden strike snaps Nalan back to reality.

Shaedys strike caught her off guard and Nalan was barely able to hold off the attack from directly hitting her.
Shaedys made his jump on the higher platform and Nalan could see he was preparing his next attack. I will have to get higher up as well she thought to herself. Nalan wanted to use one of the other platforms as a stepping stone for her next attack and needs to make sure to land near a statue for a little plan she had.

"Here goes nothing" she whispers to herself.
With full focus back on the battle she jumps up to one of the other platforms near the platform Shaedys is standing on.

She launches herself forward striking with her 2 blades from both sides at once. Depending on how he defends she wants to try and keep the momentum and jump on towards the status nearest to Shaedys's platform giving herself a rest at the feet of the large statues. She turns to face Shaedys again. She wants to focus on keeping her defence up so she keeps on using the Shii-cho style.

Not sure if I get a terrain bonus from the whole platform stepping stone jump action. So for now I have not calculated any bonuses on these numbers. So mercury please recheck my numbers if I done them correctly please . (Yes I am a noob :) )))

[T'Sal]

Her aggressive attack seams to worked and is forcing miss Shebi back, but her defenses are good. T’sal even with the surprise attack is not close to touching her. Damn, she would not be able to defeat her unless a miracles happens.

But T’sal could not give up. She does not want to lose. She has to stand her ground and try to get some points and then maybe win. So she needed a different tactic, she would really need to create an advantage situation for herself.

As miss Shebi is attacks her hilt, T’sal lowers her stance and then makes a spin attack to create some space. She then jumps up to one of the plateaus. From this position she could see miss Shebi coming and have time to prepare a counter measure.

[Shebi Ajava]

Before the tournament, Ajava was confident in her abilities with the lightsaber. T'Sal's sudden onslaught was an effective reminder that she should never grow complacent. Annoyed by her previous misjudgement of T'Sal's combat attitude, Shebi Ajava watches the Hiocan padawan like a hawk, determined to take advantage of every single opening.

The first few attacks were fast and furious, but T'Sal seemed to have put a lot of her aggressiveness in the first attack. Seeing her opponent go into a low spin, Ajava immediately saw the opening this offered her.

While she jumps back to dodge the attack, she taps the ground in front of T'Sal with a vicious force push, intent on blowing a cloud of dark sand into T'Sal's face to distract her. While T'Sal copes with the sudden burst of sand, Shebi Ajava jumps into the spin with a wide slash, going for her opponent's weapon with al her strength. ((Check: 11 = 6 Force Level + 5 Energy -- using force push to blow up the sand))

[Fecta Trigiel]

Trigiel had to back of from the powerful attacks from Nathan. Then he got surprised by the sudden move of the bigger cyborg and got hit by his fist. This didn't had any affect on his ability to fight though as his chest was made of pieces solid durasteel, just like most of the rest of his body. He used the time Nathan needed to turn to switch from defence style. Nathan might had military training, but so did Trigiel, and he had a surprise for Nathan as well.

He quickly retracted his right lightsaber a bit back into his arm-pocket, but kept it extended and activated. This got his hand free for his move. Then when Nathan did an attack, Trigiel did a step left, followed by a fast move past the back large cyborg. In his move Trigiel grabbed the head of Nathan with his right hand while his lightsaber was still activated at the pocket. This made Nathan had to care for the lightsaber in front of his face, severely limiting the options of Nathan and providing Trigiel the time to put pressure on the head and snap the neck. Then suddenly Trigiel realised Nathan was an Astrian cyborg, and not a Fecta. So he had actually no idea what the biological lay-out was of Nathan, meaning that his brain might actually be in his head. Snapping his neck might kill the Astrian Padawan, and that was absolutely not the intention of Trigiel.

In the split second Trigiel realised this, he knew Nathan had enough time to recover from Trigiel's move, so instead of snapping his neck, Trigiel put his feet in the back of the knee of the astrian cyborg, released the grip on his head and used the leg as step and force jumped away, on top of one of the pedestals from the statues, getting higher ground and cover from the legs, making defending pretty easy.

[Shaedys]

Shaedys stood on his high ground, the last hit had caught Nalan Passik mostly off guard. In hindsight he should have put more force behind it instead of testing hers, but this could not distract him now. He thought of a tactic from his training and took off.

Shaedys took his high ground and took a running start to the edge of the ledge, where he jumped off the edge towards the right of Nalan Passik. Hoping that Nalan would not expect this he used his force jump to alter his path in the middle of his flight, coming from the high ground.

In this way he would try to get Nalan passik from her left side, using his normal light saber to make a slashing attack while also making a stabbing attack with his left hand, his short light saber. He hoped this, together with the alteration of his path to end up in an unexpected path, would catch Nalan off guard. After a clash, he would try to back off and form into a more defensive stance using the shii-cho style.
