"I appreciate the offer - I may call upon it." the Senator told Trigiel.

"I do not think we will have much to discuss..." he sighed when Ajava asked him - at the situation, not at her question. "Go ahead and contact him."

Finally the senator turned to Nathan. "Our law has been the way it has since the beginning of our nation - to change it would require a large majority as it is entrenched in our constitution. Though many felt it superfluous, to challenge it would require expending political capital or failing and suffering public humiliation. Opponents of the politician who would move to change it wouldn't be above sabotaging the move to make their opposition look bad. Thus, the cost of having the law was thought to be zero, while the cost of changing it was thought to be high. As a result, none ever bothered to risk their careers and waste their influence on changing it."

Ajava looked at the other padawan.

"Does anyone else want to speak with the soon-to-be king?"

She waits a little for people to make up their mind and join her if they want, then leaves to speak with the king.

"I don't really have anything to say to him but I am curious what his reaction will be. I will join you."

Ariana joins Shebi Ajava and stays in the background to observe.

Nathan shook his head at the senators words. Why so many politicians placed their career before their people was beyond him.

Then he turned to the rest of the squad.

"I'll see you back on the ship." he said before turning back to the senator, snapping a salute. "Senator."

And with that he left the senators office to head back.

"I will go to the king as well. I have nothing to say explicitly, but I think we should present our conclusion as a group. If there are any news reporters, I will be available for them as well."

Soon Ariana and Ajava arrived at the ship of the would be king, who was getting powdered by a young lady for what appeared to be a camera appearance he was planning on.

"Ah Jedi! You have come to be present for my announcement I take it?" the future king stated as they arrived,

"Your highness", she bowed to make sure he caught on, " we have come to present you with our findings, and to make sure that your reign starts of without much ruffling of feathers."

"The government of your world has seen the validity of your claims, and you will be reinstated to your rightful position. Senator Lophos is most likely presenting our findings to the government as we speak, and I have advised him to contact you to make arrangements for the transfer of power.

I advice you to withhold spreading the information of your presence for now. If you go through with this rash announcement it might incite riots or worse. If you hold of for a little while, you will be presented with the opportunity to come to power in a controlled and smooth fashion, allowing you to take control of your domain without having to fund a civil war."

Shebi Ajava stepped a little closer to the king, making sure he paid attention. Incidentally manoeuvring the powdering lady away from him as well, to strengthen the point of holding of on this announcement.

"Regardless of your decision with regards to the announcement, your credibility will be helped much if you would allow the Jedi to visit your court from time to time. If the Jedi can peruse the government resources of Scir, and be seen at your court this might inspire confidence in the stability and justness if your rule."

Having said what she wanted to say aloud, Shebi Ajava stepped back to allow the powdering lady to step back in if the king decided to continue with his current announcement. However, she didn't really allow him any time to think it over, as she interrupts his thoughts with a well-timed telepathic connection.

And then there is the matter of my compensation for ensuring that no other conclusion was reached: You will develop an interest in advanced cloning and biochemical treatment technologies. Because of your renewed interest in such things, you will contract the Mukhauta corporation for the development and exploitation of a research facility located somewhere out of the way. A currently uninhabited remote archipelago of tropical islands, or a remote mountain range will do well, as long as it is in the Scirla system. Once the facility is completed, you will start to discretely fund the projects proposed by the Mukhauta corporation.

She flashed a seductive smile at the king, "What is your decision, your highness?"

The king looked ponder-some, thinking things over carefully and finally speaking.

"I shall wait a few days before making the formal announcement, and contact the interregnum government." the king promised. "After all, a civil war would not be to the benefit of my people."

"As for the Jedi, I am certain we can receive them in our courts from time to time."

He gave a nod to Shebi Ajava, who had successfully managed to evade detection on her use of telepathy: "Your continued support for our legitimacy shall be much appreciated." the odd tense of that sentence being quite deliberate.

"Now if you will excuse me... I have to contact someone about a dissolution of the current government."

[Shebi Ajava]

"Of course, your highness", was all Ajava replied before she left.

On the way to their transport, she told the other two: "Thanks for standing by me, when I asked Nalan for an explanation of he behaviour. I will inform master Screetor of the matter once we have returned.

I doubt this will be the last we will here of this. There is a lot that we didn't clear up... I don't like it. Ariana, you still have all the genetic samples, correct? I know a few people on Mirda that specialise in the analysis of lineage based on genetics, maybe they could have another go at it."

((OOC: As nobody seemed inclined to start, I have written a complete report. I'm sorry to say that, without any images in the thread to liven things up, the report is a bit of a boring read... I had to compress nine months of roleplay into a single coherent blob of information.

"Thank you for making the right decision, be nice to your people." Trigiel said the first part with a kind voice. During the second part he looked at the king with a stern face.

On their way back the cyborg replied: "It was nothing. Nalan needed to explain herself as she created confusion."
