I designed a new Climate Feature: http://www.fwurg.net/dokuwiki/user:mercury
Power wise, it cancels out the features of Solidified Core, which it requires. This climate feature is thus not very effective, but I thought it would fit awesomely well with my race which is after all running on crystals, so this feature would make the world a logical choice as the electronics they are made out of are more easily produced. Additionally, with this climate feature, my world actually has some potential as a viable place for a Jedi mission when a Jedi wants to make a cool lightsaber!
The reason for making this climate feature require Solidified Core is not just that it fits excellently with the concept, but also that crystals are difficult to get a bonus to so this requirement ensures that it cannot be used to create an unfair bonus to crystals from climate.
As a final bonus, as a result of this climate feature the total information production for each of my information zones becomes 255 (2^8-1) which has no bearing whatsoever on whether this climate feature should be approved, but which was just too cool not to mention ^_^

At first I was: *sigh* yet another climate, let's just make a matrix already and fill all spots.
Then I was happily surprised that this actually is an interesting climate. I like it a lot!
(Except for the image: there's a dude on the image, at the bottom, just right of the center!)

I had exactly the same feeling regarding creating a new climate. This one wasn't born out of a desire to have a specific statistic or production benefit, but because I was thinking about my world, came up with a distinguishing feature, and then realised I could probably make a climate feature out of it.
Imagine -> Create ^_^
Edit: Regarding the dude - I realise it is somewhat awkward, but he gives a sense of scale to the image that I found really lacking without the guy. This image is from an actual place that exists in reality. America has like 6 places called "Crystal Caves" and all of them are just plain caves. This one is in Mexico, and just by the fact that it is real makes it one of the coolest geological features ever ^_^

I would like to point out this would not need solidified core as clearly this exists IRL and the earth doesn't have a solidified core.
That is unless I horribly misinterpreted solidified core.

You're right. While it is indeed true that geophysically, the Solidified Core would not be necessary, it is the only way to make this climate not be a 'yet another climate' with +(:crystals). This limit makes it acceptable because you can cancel out another climate, but not stack this for further boosting.
No problem, Approved!
