Hello,

I'd like to join the game as a Jedi with http://www.fwurg.net/dokuwiki/ic:denari_merelle.
Are her stats and background story ok like this? (I'm especially unsure if meeting Master Leithor somewhere other than Unity City is plausible/acceptable)

Also, as she has Befriend Animal as force power, she is supposed to have an animal companion, but I haven't been able to think up anything appropriate for it. Can anyone give me a little more info on the idea behind that? (e.g. is it an ordinary animal or a manifestation of the force? In case of the latter I've got a whole scala of things I'd like to know ^_^ among which: how big are they, do they have a fixed shape, can they be seen by others, is it related to the first creature you used the force power on, can they talk, float around, pass though walls like ghost, etc etc?)

As far as I know it is supposed to be a regular / real (star wars) animal. However in my oppinion it can be special, like being a bit more intelligent that other animals of its kind. When it comes to size I would say be reasonable and practical. Having a Rancor as companion is not very practical in a urban area. And as far as I know it is saying "Small" animal.

Also, the animal companion is voluntarily. If you don't want one, you don't have to take one.

That being said, the idea is the cliché 'I am cool and have a animal who is my friend'. The story behind it is mostly up to you. Basically, if you have a cool idea, we will find a way to fit it in ;)

The animal companion is an ordinary animal; it might be special in that it is a bit of an outlier for it's species, but nothing that it's species can't normally be.

As already noted by Elmer, it is not necessary to pick one. You can pick one later after some thinking, or delay picking one indefinitely. For example, my character Shebi Ajava has Befriend Animal as well, but has no animal companion.

Thanks for the info :)
I'll pick one later then, or perhaps one will stick to her during a mission ;)
(Originally I decided on a small goat, but figured that was very impractical if you suddenly want/need to go stealthy... ^^)

Any thoughts on the other things?

I've done a full check of the character Denari Merelle.

I've found several small things, categorized in order of relevance (most relevant first):

On the stats:
  • 10 Skill points are spent, while 11 are available: 9 from normale creation, 1 (:crystals) related skill from Crystals Oriented, and 1 (:information) oriented skill from Information Oriented.I counted both raw material oriented bonusses in the current situation: 1 point in Stealth for the (:information) oriented, and 1 point in Explosives for the (:crystals) oriented. So there is one general skill point available to be spent.
On the background:
  • Most padawan are discovered at a young age, with some exceptions (who, strangely enough, are usually player characters ^_^). So, the age of 20 is a little on the high side for a Padawan, but that's not really a problem. We've had Padawans both older and younger, so it'll work out fine. Feel free to adjust downwards if you feel like it, or leave it as is if you rather have your character be 20 years of age.
  • It is not unreasonable for your character to be discovered as being Force Sensitive by a Jedi Master on a world other than Unity. Jedi Masters tend to travel around, visiting Jedi Temples on different worlds and such. Of course, if you want to double-check, you should check with Dragonmaster352. he runs Jedi Master Leithor is an NPC when he wears his storyteller hat.
On the technical side of things:
  • It's best if the character image is a 300 by 300 pixels image; since most tools and the forum expect that. If that's not possible, try to make it as square as possible. That being said, the hand drawn picture is awesome, and we should find some way to get it working... Maybe you can make a cropped square version as the "character portrait" and show off the full image on the character's wiki page? (If you need help with that, don't hesitate to ask)

If you fix the Skill rank distribution, you're good to go! (The rest will sort itself out)

Thanks for the feedback!
On the stats:
I spent the left over skill point on first aid. ( I did not know explosives was a (:crystals) oriented skill :D)

On the background:
Her being on the old side for a Padawan is intentional as she was recognised late, so I'm happy to leave it as is. I've PMd Dragonmaster352 to double check the thing with Master Leithor.
On the technical side:
I did use a 183x183 pixels image of the drawing for the forum avatar, and since it shows correctly in my accounts list, I expect that is what you were suggesting?

Pixie, are you still with us? I see nobody has ran a training mission for you yet. If nobody is able to step up, perhaps I can oblige?
