[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

Without further information, the jedi council has called Jedi Knight Ariana Danacia to come before them.

The same happens to the newly arrived padawan Denari Merelle, who was also called to appear before the council.

Before the pair meets with the council, they are made to wait outside the council chambers. Sitting there together waiting for the council to call them in.

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana sat down in the waiting room.

"Greetings, padawan. I am Jedi Knight Ariana Danacia, nice to meet you."

[Denari Merelle]

Denari arrived at the waiting room a little after Ariana. As she was still a little unfamiliar with the layout of the temple, she was still working on finding her fastest routes from A to B.

She stood in the doorway as she spotted Ariana. As she had never actually seen a Praetorian in real life before, she stopped dead in her tracks, stared for a moment and then stepped back to look at the room sign. 'Correct room indeed' she thought. A smile appeared on her face. All this time Spades was sitting backwards on Denari's shoulder, moving her head from left to right and back, as if doing a weird dance on some inaudible music.

When Denari walked into the room again, still smiling, Spades turned around and reacted in a similar fashion to the -relatively- enormous, winged reptile as Denari had: She sat up, started flapping her wings a little and released a high pitched "Ke-ke-ke" before settling down quickly.

After Ariana's greeting, Denari made a formal bow -Spades did not extend the courtesy, but instead compensated for the movement and kept looking Ariana over- and introduced herself: "Greetings Jedi Knight Ariana Danancia, the pleasure is all mine. My name is Denari Merelle, you may call me Denari. "

She sat down opposite to Ariana. "My apologies if I come across as rude. I have never seen a Praetorian in real life before, so I am more than a little startled by your size and the lovely colour and radiance of your scales... Please forgive me again if that was inappropriate..."
It was obvious that Denari felt awkward, apologetic and generally dissatisfied with her own behaviour. This was not how she was raised.

((OOC: Just for indication of size, am I correct to assume that Ariana has a wingspan of about 3 meters, as she is just over 40? In that case she should also not reach the average height of 2.5m right?
Disregardless, Denari is about 1.60-1.65m tall, so should appear significantly smaller than Ariana.))

"No apologies needed. As Praetorians we are aware that reactions by other species on our appearance can vary. Some individuals are scared, some are facinated others are curious. To be honest this is just a lack of understanding.

In fact, you should never apologize for your own curiousity, this is one of your most powerful tools to learn new things as a Jedi.

It is nice to meet you Denari. You can call me Ariana.

I see you brought a friend. Does she have a name?

Have you reported to the complete Jedi Council before?"

((OOC: Yes about 3 meters in wingspan and her height standing up is a little bit over 2 meters. As a young female praetorian she is still quite small.))

[Denari Merelle]

"This is Spades, or at least, that's what she responds to." Denari introduced her animal companion. "She's a bat-falcon" she said with a broad grin.

"No, I have never reported to the complete Jedi Council before. Have you?"

[Ariana Danacia]

"Only a few times. The last time I stood before the Jedi council was the moment I was knighted. The Jedi council only invites you when it is important."

[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

The two Jedi were called into the council chambers a few minutes after they arrived. The timing was as if the universe somehow conspired to give them some time to learn the other's name — or maybe the council just had a discussion to finish.

As they enter the council chambers they see that all Jedi Masters are present, each seated on a chair that is just right for them.

"Greetings Jedi Knight Ariana Danaci, and Padawan Denari Merelle.", came the metallic voice of Jedi Master Qun Treen, the breathing mask of the Kel Dorian warping his voice somewhat.

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana was not sure how to respond. She still was not sure why she was here, although she had an idea what it could be. "Thank you for inviting us master." she responded.

[Denari Merelle]

Denari lets Arianna walk in first as she is her senior.

Standing before the council she stands next to Arianna, bows respectfully to the assembly of Masters and remains silent.

[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

"As you well know, in the past, it was a tradition of the Jedi order that Jedi Knights take on a single padawan learner. Over time, this tradition has come to fall by the wayside as our numbers dwindled.

Now that our numbers are growing again, we feel that this is a good moment in time for you, jedi knight, to take on a padawan learner. After much deliberation, we have decided to assign jedi knight Ariana Danacia the padawan known as Denari Merelle.

This is great responsibility, and the jedi order is counting on you both."

He looks at the other members of the council, then back at the two jedi.

"Now that you have heard us, is there anything you wish to ask of us?"

[Denari Merelle]

Denari has nothing to ask that required an answer from the full Jedi counsil regarding this topic at this moment. Therefore, she remains silent and looks at Ariana, perhaps she has a question or remark that could spark follow-up questions from Denari.

[Ariana Danacia]

"It is an honor to take on a padawan learner. I would like to thank the council for this privilege.

Does the Jedi Council have any missions or a assignment that we take on together?"

[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

The kel-dorian master looks pensive for a moment, as if considering a matter of some importance.

"We do not yet have an assignment for you to take on together.

But I have a feeling that such a situation will not take long to develop."

[Denari Merelle]

After Ariana's question Denari looked attentively at the assembled masters.

Following Master Qun Treen's reply, she slowly nods and prepares to leave the room after Ariana.

With the two Jedi leaving the council chambers, the official part of Denari Merelle becoming Ariana Danacia's padawan is completed.

[Denari Merelle]

Once outside, Denari asked Ariana: "Do you have any thoughts and expectations on this Knight-Padawan learner relation and how you would like to approach it? On Bisidn I have seen great variation in how individual pairs structure their training..."

[Ariana Danacia]

"I still need to think about it. It is my first time as well.

I do like the practical approach, I believe you learn the most from experience."
